Hi everyone,
I'm totally new to the long range precision sport, I recently landed a pretty sweet deal on a savage 10 fcp McMillan. The guys at Wanstalls recommend I go have the rifle bedded.
First off I have read the articles on the McMillan website that their stocks do not really need pillar bedding but people decide to do it anyway. I know that pillar bedding is to prevent the stock from being crushed between the action and the bottom metal and doesn't necessarily affect accuracy. So your suggestions?
Secondly, my main question is who do you guys recommend I go to for a proper bedding job. I'm pretty sure good smith's have long turnaround times and I don't mind waiting. I'm located in Vancouver, BC
Anyway thanks for the advice in advance
