ACR/ XCR-L/ MV . Which one would you get?

I have a couple of XCRs. They're nice, but if I had to choose, I'd keep my ACR. I really dislike the barrel retention design on my XCRs. If Robarms had a better design on that particular part, I'd have a harder time choosing. Based on the price of the 'basic' MH, I think the MV is gonna be WAY overpriced for my tastes.

Price is going to make a difference, for sure. I think after the initial buying frenzy , a few hundred dollars in price difference is going to be the deciding factor.

I know of an new XCR, gen before the keymod , for $2400. And a new ACR for about the same. Of the 2 , I would choose the ACR . But i still want to see the price point of the MV , before I choose.

Whoa there hold your horses.
Modern Varminter?
Okay. But given the empiric data on the modern hunter and its, lets face the facts, less than stellar performance reliability and accuracy wise, I would wait a bit before dropping that kind of cash on it.
A rifle that is neither accurate nor reliable, thats problematic.

yes , but that's .308 , more power, more abuse. But I agree , paying that much coin, I'd want both , accuracy and reliability.

I know it's not listed, but I'd take a Benelli MR1 before a XCR-L any day and save $500+ in the process.

ATRS has said they expect the MV to come in under/at $3,000 for the base model, that's only $500 less then the MH which seems realistically possible.

Some are giving the MH a bad rep., but I believe they are MOA accurate with the right ammo. (not necessarily hand loads, but every rifle has a favourite for accuracy) and when matched with the right ammo MH's are reasonable reliable (when bashing the MH's accuracy don't forget the shooter has a lot to do with getting MOA performance which is proven via "Trinimon's Black Rifle Challenge").
So when running the right ammo, while they may be a little more ammo. sensitive they are most likely as reliable as any other semi.-auto. .308 rifle with a match chamber.

I'm hoping/expecting the MV is even better then the MH with respect to eating ammo. of all types, but only time will tell.

Th MV will likely be as a good as it gets for a .223 AR mag. acceptable NR semi. for any price, but if it comes in under $3,000 and -7lbs. with all day MOA accuracy it'll be my choice and many others no doubt.

Cheers D

What about a NR Tavor?
It's .223, has a longer track record of use than the ACR, XCR, MV (which is still in development), MR1, M96, T97 or any other .223 NR rifle as far as I know.

I don't own any of the above, but I'm just offering a suggestion. The Tavor is also way shorter that any other NR competitor (except the T97).

There's also the Swiss Arms 20" NR rifles. Those are nice, albeit heavy.

Thanks, I'm aware of all those other rifles. But the three I mentioned are all I'm interested in. I'm not really looking for comparisons as I've read a ton of threads on that also. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on which one to buy.

Ill see how the mv turns out, but the hk243 is coming as well, the mv cannot be priced more than the hk, that would make absolutely no sense.

I would love to see how the MV performs. As of now, having tried the XCR (I admit I have not shot the ACR), my go to is going to be the Swiss unless the MV proves to be a better platform at the same price point.
