Can you take a picture or two of the damage? Sounds like you may need a trip to a smith who is handy with 1911's.
Please don't drill it out! If it still shoots, that means the firing pin is moving which means the plunger is not binding against it. With the proper sized punch, depress the firing pin manually and slide off the firing pin retaining plate. Then remove the firing pin and spring and look down the firing pin channel to see if you can see what the problem is? That is if disassembling the slide as mentioned doesn't dislodge the firing pin block on it's own. Detail stripping a 1911 style slide is dead simple! Try it...the problem is likely an easy fix.yes , used...one more try before I drill it out...it still shoots with this safety seized.
WD40 leaves a thick tar like residue over time and is responsible for causing many firearms to stop working. I strongly recommend it be removed from any workbench that is used to work on guns!I'd be tempted to submerge it in wd40
