Delta Elite

Did you buy it used? I am constantly bewildered by the amount of "butchery" some people do to guns and then turn around and sell their "mistakes". Detail strip the gun if you're able. It may have just been reassembled incorrectly.

Sounds like it's ruined, better sell it to me for $300 :p

Can you take a picture or two of the damage? Sounds like you may need a trip to a smith who is handy with 1911's.

yes , used, that's a chance you take, my problem is I buy guns when away from home, and I don't inspect them close enough or shoot them soon enough, when I return. It is stripped to the point where I cannot get it out, I have one more try before I drill it out, I like the gun hate the 80 ser safety, it still shoots with this safety seized.

Nice try, I am handy enough, basically, the firing pin plunger is not coming out, I am going to be more persuasive,

I'd be tempted to submerge it in wd40 for a couple of days before attacking it..that's a nice pistol, be a shame to bubba it..

Please don't drill it out! If it still shoots, that means the firing pin is moving which means the plunger is not binding against it. With the proper sized punch, depress the firing pin manually and slide off the firing pin retaining plate. Then remove the firing pin and spring and look down the firing pin channel to see if you can see what the problem is? That is if disassembling the slide as mentioned doesn't dislodge the firing pin block on it's own. Detail stripping a 1911 style slide is dead simple! Try it...the problem is likely an easy fix.

WD40 leaves a thick tar like residue over time and is responsible for causing many firearms to stop working. I strongly recommend it be removed from any workbench that is used to work on guns!

That I did not know...been using it in the garage for years....interesting..
