VP9 Torture test by Military Arms YouTube - Failed!

Glad I didn't buy one.
I wonder how the Walther PPQ or older HK like P2000 would fare.
Even though I hate Glocks I'd probably grab my G19s in a survival scenario

Stuck on a desert island: Karl from In Range made the same difficult choice(doesn't own one, doesn't like them, but...)

Lol. Awesome tests. Brutal. I will sell mine for $50. Not. If there was a test or competition to put it thru mud, and basically try and break it by throwing it at steel and rocks for 5 minutes...i would use someone elses gun.

I saw a used hk45 at the cabelas in Winnipeg for $800. It looked like the previous owner put it through a mud test, dried mud around the grooves and the grips were a tan mud color.

These test do show how awesome Glocks are for just working period, in all kinds of conditions. However, for us the average user who will just be at the range, the test dont mean anything. For the Military or Police, these tests may mean a lot more.

Ditto.

Please ask yourself the following:

-Do you CCW your pistol?
-Do you throw your pistol in the mud/water before shooting?

If the above answers are no. There is not a concern for you.

The issue here is that H&K is marketing these as law enforcement/military use, where such extremes of working requirements are absolutely needed as MAC pointed out.

If all this pistol is good at is as a range toy or a CCW (Which I can see it being popular), then they've completely failed at continuing the H&K military lineage. I'd be worried about how they would continue on with their brand and image from now on since their products are not of the same pedigree anymore.

I might add a caveat. While that might hold true for many people, some expect a certain standard can be met whether they will ever push it to that limit. Reliability is a fundamental prerequisite for a gun in VP9 market. Whether the conditions this gun was subjected to were reasonable, is subjective, but...

A military side arm is usually carried in a holster, sometimes with a flap and you should tap your muzzle closed.

If your side arm got THAT dirty the moment you needed it "to shoot" it means it is out of your hands and/or you've fallen down into some serious #### with it draw...you've probably drop/lost it in mud/water/bush and are already screwed with bigger issues to worry about.

And one of those issues should not have to be "will my gun work?"
