Girsan 92 copy or ruger SR9? Opinions please

I know these are very different pistols, I want to buy another 9 mm, so which one of these would be the most reliable and durable for years of trouble free shooting??
 
I haven't had the SR9 but the Girsan was pretty sweet. Be ready to adjust the rear sight though - not that easy without a pusher.
 
I have owned both. The Girsan grip was too big for me. The SR9 trigger was just plain weird.

If these are your only choices go with the Girsan.

Suggest you take a close hard look at the CZ 85 Combat.

What was weird about the sr9 trigger? and I would consider others, not a m and p because I have access to one to shoot now.
 
Weird as in you can't dry fire them with out removing the mag disconnect or else you will damage the striker mechanism.

Weird as in the trigger doesn't reset when dry firing. Have to push the trigger forward to get it to reset.

Maybe I didn't give it a fair trial. Got it, shot it, and decided I had better things to play with (CZ, M&P, BHP).

The Girsan would have been a keeper but was simply too large for my small hands.

I did not know that about the trigger....I would consider a sig p320, and I would buy a m and p 9, but my brother has one and I hate the ten round mags...
 
I don't know if you've held both but I find the SR9 a little to thin in the grip area for my hands whereas the Girsan 92 clone feels just right, odd thing being I don't have huge hands but it seems like a larger grip. I definitely bought the Girsan though. A smooth trigger on it and everything seems tight and well finished. I'd buy another for sure... Actually Kind of thought of it already.
 
I sort of narrowed it down by picking up various guns and researching, any time i get to a range in florida i try and rent something i have not tried before.. I love the feel of the ppx, I like the sr9 feel..but how they feel in your hand when the round goes off is another thing. I have fired the ppx and can get the range kit for 549$..not bad. I have never fired the sr9, but can buy one for 519$. The girsan m9 clone sounds good but if i run into trouble or need service or parts how will that go. I will not go over 600$ for a pistol.

Not an expert here, but the Girsan is supposed to be made on the Beretta tooling and a near exact copy. If that's the case, Beretta parts should be readily available .... In the U.S. beretta is used by the army, Border guards, many police forces and many government agencies (not to mention the many civilian owners). As long as the Girsan's parts are true to spec, parts and mags should be easy to source.

I hear that the girsan 1911 s are not built to spec, some 1911 parts do not match up? I am no gunsmith... But I wonder??
