Nice lookin hand calls there.
I like starting a set off with a howl of some kind. The one call I use on my ecaller alot with great success right now, is the "female coyote deep howl" I only play it for about 15-20 seconds at a time. Until she sounds like shes done a lil set of howls. Youll kind of know when you play it a few times. I do that a couple times, then jump into some kind of distress calls if something hasnt come in by then.
Im NOT good with my hand calls yet, but Im using them more often then last year. I use the hand call mostly right now when I kind of sneak into a area where I know theres a coyote or two and give a little howl to mostly make them poke their heads out for a look see.
That's the one I've been playing with as well. Trying on the open reed as well but like I said not much luck just howling them in. Distress seems to be what works best for me.
Superbrad those are beautiful looking calls. I have heard of carver but I guess I've never seen a picture of them. Compared to my plastic ones those are works of art.
I was wondering if there is a primer on the basics of setting up for coyotes, and use of the e-caller. I have lots of coyotes here, and a Foxpro Spitfire, but really no idea what call to use, volume, duration, all that.
Thx
Tim

You will LOVE that call.... I actually have mine on display when I am not using them, they are that nice!
Damn I forgot to try out both again today. arg Ill try to think of it tomorrow...
Did get another to come in with the female coyote deep howl today around the 8 minute mark. A magpie gave its location away this time.
Kerry Carver must be drawing up some good business from this forum alone... I am looking forward to getting out this Friday and Saturday.
Do you guys prefer the morning or evening hunt for Coyotes?
