I suspect they built a better Ruger, then the lawyers made the receiver slab sided and hideous so people wouldn't say "Looks like a Ruger". But failed. With hilarious results!Looks like a Ruger
Is it just me who thinks this thing looks freakin' ugly? Not worthy of the S&W logo for sure, IMO.
Any of these crossed the border yet?
S&W has them listed at $409 MSRP in US$. All the YouTube reviews have been mostly positive especially the fact the pistol is easy to take down and not picky with ammo.
Haven't seen any Canadian pricing yet. I like it!
If it shoots better or equal to a stock Ruger or Buckmark it would be a step ahead from the takedown point of view IMHO.
Not sure I agree with that.
If the torquing of that screw affects accuracy at all it could be a pain in the ass.
It does have some colt cadet look to it, I like it, a bit Luger ish around the grip too!i kind of like it, owning the mark 1, Colt Cadet, Buck mark, SA22 and the Neos, and woodsman, i think its an evolution of the 22LR, what the heck, i know i will end up owning one![]()
On the Smith and Wesson website they are showing three models. The most expensive one
has an ugly look to it, but then two less expensive ones have a $20 difference but I cannot
see a single item that's different from one to the other. I even ran their little comparison
app and the two are exactly the same. Maybe the take down screw is made of platinum in one?
They are all machines and all break, I have a stainless Mark III target with about 400 rounds through it and the cross pin that holds the trigger group in place keeps falling out of place, nothing holding it there, it just sits in the holes of the stamped steel frame, I will have to email Ruger when I get a chance to see what I can do. Was thinking of peening the pin so it won't slip.
Thanks again, I will check tomorrow, if the spring is in there I will attach it as it first happened after about the fifth mag since new!One of the springs should be holding it in no?
Which pin? The main trigger pin? You haven't installed a spring correctly if this is happening.![]()
I agree that a Ruger Mark 3 is MUCH better looking.

Right, the beauty is in the accuracy/trigger/toughness and ease of field stripping etc. See what the reviews look like!Sorry if we're hitting a re-post, but didn't see it.
As in the above, it looks like Smith is trying to build some hype ahead of SHOT. Haven't been interested in a .22 for some time, but this one has me.
5.5 inch barrel
10+1
Single screw takedown, noted for "easy barrel changes."

Though I'll need to see it on the proving grounds, Smith has never failed me out of thevery gate.
Hopefully the vendors are already cooking on this one.
Thoughts?
Took it apart today and the pin hinging the bolt release is the problem, the left grip has a cutout for the large head on the pin, but the cutout is too deep and let's the pin slide out after a few mags, it happened from new, all springs appear to be in place.I layered duct tape in the grip cutout to snug up the clearance 3 layers seemed to be good, I will test it tomorrow or Wednesday and if it works I will come up with a more permanent solution! I am a lefty and the grip are target for a righty so maybe a new set of grips will be the permanent solution! Sorry for the derail OP.Thanks again, I will check tomorrow, if the spring is in there I will attach it as it first happened after about the fifth mag since new!
