At some point this year I want to build or buy a MK 12.
I'm looking for some ideas.

I like the DD brand but not opposed to others.

Looking for some suggestions and advice from guys who have built or purchase MK 12s

Let's see the MK 12s!

Are you planning on building a "to spec" MK12 mod 0 or mod 1, or just loosely follow the idea of an 18" SPR type rifle?

My 18" SPR rifle build started off a Stag Arm AR, I don't call it a MK12 because some people get really touchy about it ;)

Rainier Arm 18" Ultra Match barrel made from a Shilen SS barrel blank, 1:8 twist, rifle length gas tube.

Who makes that rail?
My parts list is going to be huge lol.

I guess I have to decide on a barrel and trigger groups first

work in progress. Just need my scope now. Need to touch up the bbl finish as the GB was VERY tight due to the added thickness of the bbl while installing it. GB isn't actually installed yet in the pic.

You can likely get one exported from Brownells....just make sure you order a few more items to justify the export licence fee...

well an export lice is 250.00 USD....1 brake is 189.00 USD....that is a 439.00 USD brake set.....buy a barrel and you split half the fee between the barrel and brake...add a few more licensed items and the cost of the licence is getting a little more palatable.

Awesome thanks for the brake down. I'm sure I'll have a long list of items once I'm ready by the looks of things so far
