It's the "Winchester Disease." Put that logo on anything and prices goes to places that defy common sense. Even their POS guns made in Spain and Italy command ridiculous prices.Speaking of M21's, given how ugly those guns are and how overbuilt for hunting they are and how few people who are serious about it use a SxS for any of the clays games, it amazes me these things still command the money they do. The strength of the receiver was pure marketing hype that lives on to this day, performing little of use that isn't accomplished by all other quality receivers.
I recall seeing a Winchester Model 21 on the rack at Churchill's in West Wycombe. Among the English game guns the Winchester looked like an ugly fat chick at a super model's convention.
