Anodized and cerekote finishes. Cerekote comes in more than just fde contrary to popular belief.

The only out of the norm black/tan color production rifles that I've seen in Canada are the DD m4s. I wouldn't expect anything else.

Thanks for the link. It seems like infrared signature management is a property of the Gen II Cerakote regardless of colour though. Their graphite black is just as undetectable as their FDE.

Generally black is not good for night vision. Looks like Cerakote developed a black that is works, but it's purposely designed to do that. Mid range browns generally are a lot better in this respect, regardless of the type of coating.
Plus, browns are found in all environments, from forest, to city, to jungle, to desert.

Yes black is bad for NV. Then again the rule is if you could be seen in daylight, you can be seen at night. It's best to just stay out of sight period.
