Looking at a mint 870 feather weight in 16ga. Looks like brand new even tho she's from the 70s. Any one tell me what it would be worth? 28" pipe 23/4" no screw in tubes and no rib. Thanks

Depends on how much you want it really. I'd pay 250$-300$ for it because I really like 16 gauge, hate vented rib barrels, and don't GAF if I can use steel or not since it'd be an upland only type of gun anyway with a 2 3/4" chamber. The deal clincher/breaker for me is what type of fixed choke it has. If it's full, I'd be all over it. It sounds like a really sweet gun for shooting birds in the thick ####. Pics? :dancingbanana:

Remington never made a 870 16ga light weight or feather weight it would be just a standard large frame 16ga
If it is a true 70's it will have the high gloss walnut wood and later fancy checkering and if mint should bring 450 in a full choke and a little more in mod or IC even non vent rib
Cheers

Got to agree with 3macs1, one of the best pumps made imo. I have a 12ga and 20ga that won't be leaving the safe other than to shoot them. Most that I see are 0n the 300-450 range.

Totally agree with your assessment. Slightly off topic but worthy of note. Friend just picked up a Remington Wingmaster 28 ga. off a guy for $50 last week. Asked me if it was an OK gun. Resisting the urge to say I would take it off his hands for $100. Told him he had a perfect grouse gun.

And it would last less then 5 minutes if listed for that. Your guess is way off.

Sorry but I could not sleep and that is being 100% honest taking a 28ga wingmaster off anyone for 50 bucks
More than one gun I have went to look at over the years did I tell the poor sellers what they really had and what it was really worth
Different world today and not for the better
Cheers

That is actually funny. That old is the best ones ever made in 870's. I would not sell mint 70's wood for 150 let alone a complete wingmaster of any gauge especially 16ga
Cheers

Got to agree. I have a 16 gauge wingmaster with a non vented rib barrel, fixed full choke and absolutely gorgeous wood. I'd take quite the offer to pry that shotgun away from me. I know it's a sacrilege but I'm going to get it Cerakoted this year because it gets dragged through some pretty nasty/wet bush sometimes and has been known to have a few flakes of rust on it here and there. I want to keep it for a long, long time so it's gonna need a coating.

:sok2 Your friend has a horseshoe firmly implanted where the sun doesn't shine. That's amazing.

Am I the only one irked when these posts are made only to support an EE listing?

You see this all the time. In this particular case the OP said he was looking at buying one. So either that was BS or after getting values, he gave the guy nothing for it and is now flipping it for what he was told it might be worth. I think somewhere in the rules looking for values or posting about a gun to promote an EE listing is not allowed but it's tough to enforce.
After reading this he will probably come back with something like, "I didn't buy it but told the owner I'd sell it for him". This is also against the rules.

Actually I bought it with the intent to keep it. After getting it home I found its not for me and have since got a bps 20ga from my dad. Why dose this bother people so much? I'm not the only person that has changed my mined on a gun, I've seen it happen here lots.
