Brand new mossberg full of rust

They only thing done was the trigger, and firing pins stuff. The rust was not noticed until I started getting to the barrel. None of it has been touched.

Take some pics before you box it back up. After the gun is shipped back, it will be your word against some robot on the phone at the distributor.

Ignorance, you're doing it.

...but I agree, cool story.

There's too much emotion from the op, for his description to be believable. It is however, a cool story.

I am not emotional, pissed at the condition of this new shotgun yes, emotional no, and to state that I wrote this just for something to do, shows your ignorance,,, ya I guess it is a cool story.

Agree unfair to name the store selling it at this point.

The bottom line is what the store does to make things right.

Full refund. Offer to replace with non RUST gun. Or ???

ripitup911 3rd and last time, I did not say this was P&Ds fault, and I don't think the other guy who mentioned he would avoid was speaking about P&D.

Rather than the buyer it is the manufacturers responsibility to make sure that their product is properly prepped, and packaged. I just bought a toaster, and didn't tear it open at the store, to check for rust, or other faults. Come to think of it, I also bought a socket set recently, and didn't tear that open at the store either.

I guess you have never bought something at the store and get home to find out it is damaged? The point is most people will take a good look at the item before they decide to start working on it.

Sign of the times.
Take it out of the box at the store and make sure all bits and pieces
are there as well as condition.
My bit butt for failing to do so has caused me trips back to the vendors.
And not just on shooting irons.
First clue is taped packages where the seal is broken.
Second clue would be greasy finger prints on the item's boxes.
And so forth.
Bet Phil will look after you..........speaking oh whitch?

I think that it is nothing more than negligent prep and packaging. The only place this gun had any lube, of any kind was in the trigger, and firing pin assembly which were stuffed full. There were no silica packs in the box either. I also checked the box to see if lube had seeped out of the gun, or barrels and couldn't find any. Don't they sell these things in the north east too?

I just wanted to warn people, to have a good look before buying. I'm very unimpressed.

Ya ok master ripitup, knows everything, thanks for the advise. Oh by the way,, do you work for Mossberg?

I really don't think it is unfair in the least to name where it was bought. They did not cause the problem, and were not blamed for anything. As before the box was not even opened, by them. I do and have bought lots from P&D I prefer the local guys in every product when I can. The post was about the gun and the manufacturers neglect. nuff said

I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MOSSBERG SHOTGUN AGAIN!

Oh wait, I already decided that well before reading this thread.
