You guys have any experience with the "CoreBrake™ Clamp-on Muzzle Brake for any rifle without threaded barrel"?

http://www.coretacsolutions.com/products_CTS_CLMZ.htm

Or should I get my 700 SPS threaded and go with a screw on?

Thanks,

Hi,

I got one on Monday (took about one week from the time I ordered it!). I have not try it yet, but it's really easy to install, the quality of the product is great and it looks bad*ss. I have a Rem 700P with a 26 inches barrel. Here is the picture. Pretty happy with the result and the ordering process.

Have your barrel threaded and when ordering a brake, order the gunsmith install version.

Brakes work by stripping gasses from the bullet as it passes through the baffles in the brake. The only way to get a nice "tight" fit and ensure the bullet is coming through the brake centered, is to have the gunsmith install it and use your muzzle as a center for opening the brake to the correct diameter and location. Spin on and clamp on brakes will help some but may not be as potentially effective as is possible.

Nice rig you have there!

Thanks for your reply, looked into it quickly, not much more expensive to have the barrel threaded compared to clamp-on...

Coretac is 300$
Install of muzzle break (or brake???) 125 plus break, breaks go for about 150$
So just about the same price
