Zastava bolt Action rifles #### club ....

no way you will enjoy an hogback and a 458 win ... cz removed the hogback on the 550 and the 375 ....

i didnt remind changing or adjusting the sights on the battue. but i sold mine really a while ago ...

to get a zastava in Canada good luck if it is not listed on the paper. the importer is hard to put a new item on their custom paper ...

im waiting for now 3 years to get a 9.3x62 and 30-06 in full stock for left handed ....

Hogback is not better if you intend to use it with irons? I can see it being bad if you scoped it.

I don't know about the 98 centerfire but the comb on the m85 is too high to use with irons sights for me.

I hope tradex will bring in another run of stutzen 98's

Conor,

if you look on the design of british heavy caliber bolt rifle stock there is not a pinch of bavarian syle ...

due to heavy caliber a hogback is not the best to handle or helping to handle the recoil.

for sure the piggyback is helping to use sights but i can use a lot of different stock design and sights.

one of my favourite design for the zastava was the Interarms X express a shame never done in left hand ....

tradex is not importing Zastava but they re selling a lot of them for sure.

Do they come from baikal canada? I looked for them a lot when at gun counter but could never find one from our suppliers. Only tradex.

I suppose if the comb is too high it can be sanded down. All of my current rifles have iron sights and straight combs w/ no cheek pieces, though the hogs back might be an improvement. Bad fit is no good on a gun that kicks like that though.

I almost begged Martin at Corwin-Arms to somehow get stainless in 7.62x39. Sadly, i don't think they ever made them.

Zastava bolt Action rifles #### club

Seen all the great pics and thought it would be good to pick one up too. I've only done a preliminary free float and will need some ammo to test the open sights before I get some glass for the "Wagner".

Thought I'd add that the pics are not that great. I'll try again after the glass is added.

The stocks on the center fires have been shortened by 3/4",, thats the nice thing about these rifles they can be personalized.

How smooth are the actions on those Zastava's fellas? I almost bought one but ended up finding a Tikka in 9.3x62 (yeah I hopped on that bandwagon) but I've contemplated a stainless ZAstava, just curious how they would compare for smoothness of the bolt?

I had a savage model 16 before the Tikka, basically got rid of it cause the bolt wasn't slick enough and the rifle was heavy.

I have a 799 in 22 Hornet that my son gave me one Christmas or birthday or both........don't remember, anyway they most definitely are a single stack detachable magazine fed rifle. The feature that surprised me the most was the excellent adjustable trigger on the 799 and the Zastavas, I just wish they'd hire some better co-ordinated baboons to do their checkering...............
