The noted price is "fair". I bought 5 dozen of these back in late 2015. I remember the wholesale price (which is why I say the price noted is fair).
These have sold well. They are an "ugly" rifle if you look close - fit, finish and Rem 783 will probably never occur in the same sentence.
BUT they do shoot as well or better than rifles running three times the price.
I see these as an Axis with a better trigger that usually sell for a little less than even the Axis.
I guy I hunt with bought one of the compact models in 243 (he's short, short arms, the 12 1/2" pull fits him well). He put 4-12X40 Bushnell XLT on it, grabbed two boxes of shells and walked out of the store for just on 525 bucks (taxes in).
He proceeded to iron it out a bit (with federal blue box 100 grain soft points) and within an hour or so you could cover his 100 yard groups with a toonie.
Ugly rifle, yes, metal looks like it was finished by dragging it over a gravel road at high speed, yes, bolt a little sloppy, yes, stock made from plastic pop bottles that were rejected from the recycling bin, yes, but for 500 bucks, including ammo, it will out shoot many....
