Info on BRNO 602 .375H+H

Very cool about the front sight blade being easy to replace. I have always wanted express sights but I like to change it up for loads. Did the rifles come with multiple blades? Is this feature included in the CZ rifles?

I doubt it as they would have been setup to match their 100, 200 and 300 express blades with whatever they came with.

You can buy replacement front sights of varying heights in Canada. I just can't remember the name of the retailer. Bwana Dave do you recall?

They could also probably be cheaply made up on a 3D printer.

NECG in the USA sells front sights that fit. Various heights, bead types, etc. I have installed both fiber optic and "patrige" slanted brass flat top fronts on my ZKK rifles and they are improvements over the factory steel bead.

I would also be interested in a Canadian retailer of these sights.

Sorry Vern I don't , dont recall much of anything some days.

I just bought a couple of .375 height front sight inserts for my x62 from Brownells, white plastic and brass insert, both are far superior to the factory bead ( and made by NECG).
You should post up a pic of your shortened and modded 602 for the OP, makes a whole different animal out of the factory gun, shorter and lighter with all the benefits of the 602 still in place.

Just curious because if you want to change bullet weights or velocities and thus point of impact. I was wondering if they maybe came with a "300 grain" blade and a "270 grain" blade.

Is there info on what loads they are regulated for?

Seems a common consensus that the .458 feeds poorly from the full magnum action?

All 3, 602 rifles I have owned shot high with the open sights. In fact the 200 and 300 meter leaves were almost the same height. This allowed the owner to have each leaf custom filed for the ammunition the owner was going to use.

When I shortened my barrel, because of the taper I had to change to a lower front sight.

It shoots bang on at 100 yards with the 100m leaf with factory 270 grain ammo.

^ awesome rifle Geologist, what length is the barrel currently?

I don't feel like the 300 blade would get a lot of use from me.

Thanks, it's cut to 20" from 25".

It lost around 70 fps doing the cut.

Honestly I've never even looked at the other blades. The 100 blade stays firmly in place.

My first Bolt action is ZKK602. I got in year 1994. This is a full size true Mauser action. Control round feeding. Really strong and reliable. I cut the barrel to 21" and mag-na-ported. I love it.

I have a 602 in a 416 Rigby and have owned 3 previously in 375 H&H and another in 450 Ackley. They are a very big rifle and well suited to the Rigby and bigger but just too big and heavy for a 375 H&H in my opinion. These are a 100% reliable rifle and have many very desirable features for a heavy for dangerous game. There are nicer heavies out there but certainly not for this dollar value, a true magnum Mauser action with a 5 round magazine and forward barrel recoil lug and bolt for less than 1200 bucks in most cases............pretty tough to beat !!!!! But do spend the extra money, when you hunt Africa with one, for the gun bearer..........they are quite a load when it's 55 degrees.................
