Took my brand new JRA M14 out today. Just picked it up a few days ago, stripped, cleaned and found bent spring guide. (Sadlak on the way now). Figured id shoot it anyway, it looks as if someone tried to pound it back straight.
First round, click. nothing.
eject round, 4 rounds gtg.
Same thing again for next mag. First round, failure to fire. Noticed the bolt was not in full battery. Started loading 4 rounds, ran ok.
Only had one other stoppage, 3rd round did not get picked up.
My question is; what is the issue. I know about the slightly warped spring guide, I put plenty of grease on the moving parts and clp on everything else. The magazine is a SA 5/10 and the rivet prevents any give when loaded with 5 rounds, in fact you can not load magazine with bolt closed.
I did not use a chamber brush yet, but from what I can see the chamber looks clean. The rounds where cheap norc ####.
The saving grace today was after a fired about 15 rounds of the cheap stuff i put 4 rounds of match through into alittle better than an inch at 150M.
