Chinese MC-5D SKS Questions

The few D models I've seen are cheap junk made for export.

I remember like 20 years ago a bunch of shorter barreled SKS D's they called them Hunters. They didnt have any metal in them & just a regular SKS type mag release. They were really rattly. Sounds like the MC-5D, but must have been a different run..? These were noticeably cheaper in Every wayy! I still wish I kept it..but..lol

Hunter or Sporter, I remember those. Yup MC-5D's.

Can you tell me more about XZ Labs in California. Thanks...

......Joe

Only found it today on google. Not even sure it is the same XZ. But given that they have a base of operations in California where most importers in the US that brought in SKS-D and similar Chinese civilian model SKS, and they have present day ties to China, and they have a Military engineering component.... I'm going to guess they might be the same.

That being said, the XZ models were being sold in Canada long after the US importation of Chinese firearms came into effect. These may have been for the US market, and scooped up secondarily by the Canadian market.

Agreed. That means these came into Canada after the Clinton ban of 1994. So it must have been around 1995.
