VOMZ 3.5x20c

Someone mentioned the Burris Z rings for windage issues, bearing in mind the video hasn't been updated since 2014. My issues with my new Promag side mount project will likely be more windage than elevation I'm assuming. I would consider "chiming" the mount too. For those with Magwedge rail this issue shouldn't happen however the best mount I believe is the original PU sniper mount but just don't like all the #### sticking out like the over size screw etc..

I'd check the Weaver Windage adjustable Grand slam rings instead. Brownells has a similar ring too.

I got the directional problem fixed, elevation is still sketchy but not perfect. Those fit perfect with the medium rings.

I'll be mounting this optic to my sks on a choate drill and tap once it arrives from mother Russia. Let you know how it runs.

ordered one from Russia too. Couple weeks ago. pochta.ru is trolling me - my scope just "arrived to Russia" after waiting for departure from Moscow for a week *sigh

Mine just arrived yesterday from Russia as well, 2 weeks or less to get here. I couldn't wait for Corwin to get his on the shelf. This is my 3rd PU now, I think I like them!

I've tried them all except the real PU mount. Yours and the Promag are said to be rock solid. I'll post some pics of mine later with a PU

I found the turrets to be stiff. Quite a bit stiffer than an actual PU optic. Maybe mine just wasn't greased well enough? When giving right windage the aiming point would raise slightly. When I gave left windage the aiming point would lower slightly. That's not good. Not good at all and you really need to pay attention to see it. A guy could waste a lot of time and ammo trying to make simple adjustments.

I dont think think it is even fair to call these a PU scope.
The PU even has the windage turret on the opposite side of the housing.

too bad really
It was nice to have a nice compact optic that fit 1" rings....

Haven't tried it at the range with the PU shown but the PU 3.5x C on my other SKS's held its own. All my VOMZ turrets are tight but manageable.

Fixed my windage issue with the Weaver Grand Slam rings, it did the trick to keep the German #1 reticle in centre.

It's probably not a problem since so many people are using this configuration.
It just seems to me it's mounted so far back, and with the short eye relief of these scoped I wonder if it will ever eye kiss you.

Hi. Mounted several scopes on the SKS. The problem is to move the scope back you lose eye relief, but gain better access to the mag for loading or use of stripper clips. Hence the short scopes help with this. But having done a few of the Promag style mounts I am leary of mounting them to far aft, some actions are weaker and the stock weaker back their as well.
Your choice. Mine has the PU style mount and it is forward enough to shoot comfortably. Have not shot it yet, looking forward to.seeing it shoot.
Be well

Man Alive!
I like what you've done here.
What mount is hat?

I'm going to do some research on that mount. I'd like to see it a bit closer to the dust cover. Wonder if there is room deeper below the wood?
