Hot new 300 Magnum!

I have the same rifle in 308 and was planning on stripping off the flames and painting it with Krylon but it is starting to grow on me now and I think I might just leave it as is........
 
Can't get over how well made and designed the synthetic stock is on the Vanguard.

I used to handle one in .223 kryptek snow camo a lot at the gun counter, felt great in the hand; no one would buy it though; too damn ugly.
 
The snow camo or whatever is the newer S2 style stocks (sans rubber inserts). Big improvement over the S1 style which the flamer is. I had stuck my .243 flamer in a Hogue stock but now have gone back for no reason other then it looks soo terrible lol.
Got the last snow camo .257 Wby from Cabellas for $499....S2 is a nice solid stock.

The store I worked at was selling .300 weatherby's in that configuration (I believe, the stock was tan/OD kryptek) for a similar price. Everyone who bought one was grinning like a moron as other chumps shouldered 300 WM Savage 116's for the same price. It was a good acid test for who was a gunny and who thought a magnum misses less than a .308...

The burbot are biting, and the snow is gone enough to drive on the lakes now.
