One potential supplier has quote price and another has said how long they estimate it will take to get them here.
But it gets tiring repeating it.

Canam posted a month before the frt got approved that they anticipated a price point somewhere around $850.
TI stated something like 6 to 9 months to import in their thread.

Who is making them is it the lowly brand called norinco? And what is with calling it a type 81? Type? Is that the translation? Use the designers name or come up with a letter and number. Your out shooting it and some buddy asks "is that an AK". And you have to say no it's a type 81 from China. Then the response is "oh". Nobody likes the made in China thing unless your a norinco owner.

That bar over the read sight looks like it'll be in the way. Kind of view obstructing by the looks of it. Bet it protect the #### out of it though.
Price at $850 that not bad. After I get my tax return I might pick up two of them.

$850 would be a perfect price point - I'd be in for one. I've noticed two different safety styles.. one like the SKS, and another like the VZ58 but on the left side. Is the latter the fully automatic version? Or a different model altogether?

Oddly I was thinking the same thing - I really don't like the T97 sight either.
I have a suspicion its got something to do with launching grenades? Or maybe its just a random bar.

I hope you're right! The VZ58 style safety would have my money in a heart beat. I've never been a fan of the SKS having a similar action next to the trigger. Add a solid wood stock and I'll be drooling. Plus it looks like it may open the door to an ambi safety as the pin appears on the right side. Take my money! That rear sight may need some modification though..
