Can anyone recommend a place to buy a lee loadmaster? Price is a factor...
Also taking opinions on this press as well (good or bad)
I Would like to try a progressive but cannot afford the price tag of a Dillon

I have had one for about a dozen years. Definitely not as smooth as a Dillon, but produces ammo that is every bit as good. May require some tinkering now and then.

Higginsons should carry them. Thats where I got mine from.

Auggie D.

just don't pay any attention to elp or os- you probably can get a whole one from higgenson- he's the lee replacement depot for Canada- they're pretty common

Budget Shooter Supply may have to order it in but Henry would be my first stop. They answer e-mail quick but not on weekend.

Higginsons is expecting a shipment from Lee... good luck with that.

X-reload has it on the shelf for ~335, Titan reloading Supply $250USD ~ $330CDN. To me it looks like new stock prices, a $50+ increase over this time last year.

Just looked at Higgenson's price list, and it's cheaper to buy on Amazon with Prime.

I've been looking at the classic cast and turret presses since I'm cheap, but they're out of stock of those.

I've done two orders with Henry at Budget. First class experience both times.

When I was casting around for options for a possible second progressive press I looked at a lot of You Tube videos to get a feel for how each worked compared to my Dillon 550b. What I found with the Loadmaster is that there's a lot of small mods and tricks to make it run smoothly or to make the basic setup easier to do than what Lee suggests in their own manual and videos. Other videos are mods to cure small issues that folks have found to be less than optimum. The good news is that all this stuff is there to be found easily. But it put me off that I'd need to do all those things. But if you're set on a Load Master I strongly suggest you look at those videos about these things. It'll really help.

Save your $$$ and buy a Dillon, RCBS or one of the other good loaders ........ Very last choice Loadmaster ....... only if there are no other options! Not even good for a boat anchor, you don't want to be working on your anchor ever time before you use it!

well that's one of the two heard from- this is getting REALLY old and EVERYONE who follows gun nuts knows where you u stand on the subject- funny how there's only 2 out of all the loadmasters sold in Canada- and you're one

Titan Reloading but ship by USPS International Parcel Prices have been the same for over a year from what I can see.
If you want it now...this is the way to go. If you want to wait...Henry is your man.

I gave up trying to prime with mine. I run two turrets, one with a universal decapper and one to reload. I run a batch of brass through the decapper then sit and watch TV while I hand prime them. Then I run them through the other turret to reload them.
With the case feeder it's really fast, way faster than my Hornady lnl. I much prefer it to the Hornady.

have u tried the latest mod of primer - ie the red 1 piece mod- you MIGHT find a BIG difference

Not worth the time or effort in my opinion. The Loadmaster priming system flat out sucks, otherwise it's a great press.Disable the primer system, buy a hand primer and move on with life. I do the same with my Pro1000 as well.

Oddly enough as I recall some of the videos I typed about above were related to the primer setup. Now I see why.

There's not much point to a progressive if it needs hand priming to work. Or separate decapping or much of anything else other than cleaning and running through the press.

It's funny because I can load faster on the loadmaster than the Hornady, even running it through twice. The case feeder makes that big a difference. The time it takes to hand feed the Hornady as well as loading the damn primer tubes adds up.
