Nightforce vs Schmidt and Bender vs Vortex vs US Optics

Um, yes, there most certainly are off-detents between illumination settings.

I'm puzzled by how many folks are casting negative opinions of the TT without having seen or operated one.
I would call it unease, in my case at least, the TT is 6K ( big amount), i all ready own many S&B PMll that did not have a single glitch and is back by a bullet proof reputation, while being the best, clearest and reliable scopes i have handled...

I almost ordered a TT but decided to wait...

Hopefully one day all little doubts will be removed and i will own one...

For now my scopes are still in pole position, might as well enjoy the ride... JP.

Agreed, only real way we can sort out which one is best!:stirthepot2:

I think the simplest answer is to buy what you can afford that:
1) makes you shoot better;
2) makes you think you shoot better;
3)makes your manhood feel bigger.

For some guys this might be a Millet, for others it might be a TT.

I don't own a TT, but I have S&B and NF....

I'll answer first, and honestly:

1. They absolutely HELP me shoot better. Only I can MAKE myself shoot better. Having the right tool for the job helps.

2. They do that to. I'm more confident and smooth when i'm behind good equipment - not just shooting, anything in life. My welder, my brewery, my saddle, our acreage tractor, my MacBook Air, etc etc....

3. I have no interest in improving the length of my manhood around you peckerheads....hahahahahahahha... lol. Now, if Lovie were around....maybe!!! I will admit that I have a "the best" complex like Caramel and Bsand. Don't confuse this with "more money than brains" - cause I'd gladly take an S&B for 800$!!! I will however wait until I can afford something that I've decided is the best for me.

Next debate: Cirrus SR22 vs. The Cesana TT....

Hahahahahahahha (I don't own either)

I find it really really nice knowing YOUR the problem, and not your equipment. Makes a novice shooter that much more confident, perfect example is myself, I have never shot over 500 yards but for tomorrow I've scouted out 800m clearing on crownland. I wouldn't have dreamt of going that far with my rem 700 with a zeiss or sb on top. Now with my DT and TT on top I have more confidence in myself and equipment. I've got 12" discs that I will be attempting to hit at 800m, which is almost double the distance I've ever shot.

Unless you are a world class shooter, owning top shelf optics will definitly improve the end result... JP.

Good for you for pushing yourself. I'd be right there with you if you weren't 2 provinces away!!! You have to be the "fastest progressor" on here....

ps - your S&B would've gotten you to 800, easy......or a vortex, or a bushnell.....now 1800, different story.

Another joke that wasn't caught.

Guess I should stop being sarcastic. Who even uses illuminated reticles here in Canada or precision/long range.

I've never even installed my battery for the damn thing.

I do however use it in 3G, but that's different.

I was more so concerned about rifle than glass. The rifle. Was consistently inconsistent, 1/2" group, then nothing tighter than 3/4" closer to 1" than 1/2.

I think everyone really likes reliable scopes with lots of elevation, holds zero ,are crystal clear, bright and have a good warranty.

Those qualities really limit the field.

I have some of those expensive scopes and when I can't afford it I get Sightron SIII which in my opinion gets you 90% or more of the very top end but for about 1/3 the cost( just my opinion , yours may well differ).

I own a few Sightron Slll and they are very good scopes and a great value, the trick (I did it a couple of times)is NOT look true the Sightron and the S&B back to back in the same minute at the same target... JP.:)

I found the same thing with my Sightron and then a NF. Sure can tell they are "different".

Absolutely no offence meant here, but yours is a "working gun" meant for easier carry and functional accuracy....(ie killin folk).

I hope you can eek more out of it, mostly so I can justify in someday!!!

We all see things differently. SO I could see one person liking one optic over another and vice versa.
I have both Nightforce and Sightron . I find the Sightron SIII on par( optically) with the Nightforce BR and a little better than the NSX. Optically speaking I actually prefer the Sightron overall compared to the Nightforce. The Nightforce seems to be built better but I have never had a problem with the Sightron SIIIs I have owned. I don't think either one would be considered as being optical wonders. Now, I do hear the Nightforce ATACR has very good glass but then again the price is that of a Schmidt and Bender.
Right now I have in front of me a Hensoldt 3.5-26x56. This is one exceptional scope.

I was talking about the rem 700, the dta is a laser. I was just on some crown land, hitting 500 yards all day long. Well for a hour but you know what I mean.
