A brand new bolt action 9mm para rifle?

It may not be a SBR in a pistal round but I keep thinking of 12" or 14" barrel in 338 federal and SeeAll sight it would be just a simple barrel swap sumthing like this
I bin looking for a cheep 308 action to make my dream bush rifle

The second one looks perfect Carverk; but how to do it legally?

Bolt action, single shots, pump actions and lever actions can all be NR SBR
But the barrel has to manufacture to length you can't cut the barrel down this is not a do it your salf project
I know bits and pieces is a licenc Manacture
This is why I'm looking for a 308 or 243 action then the rest is quite simple order a barrel blank send it to a licence Manacture (but I am after a 338 federal and not 9mm)
It's just a simple barrel swap just don't do the cutting your salf and keep the over all length over 26"

So it is cool to cut below 18.5 provided a blank is used and not a factory barrel?

This opens up a whole world of insanity

Carverk, I have to wonder about the effectiveness of a .338 fired from such a short tube.

Awesome fireballs, crazy levels of noise, but I have to think you'd be burning a lot of powder outside the confines of the barrel. I'm not trying to poop on your parade or anything, but has anyone else tried this?

Magnum research makes a 45-70 revolver...

No you can't cut the barrel blank your salf you have to have a the shorter barrel costom manafacterd for your rifle
You can get a blank and send it to a company that holds a Manafactering license and have them make the barrel for you
This is why the Rossi ranch hand is NR it was Manfacterd that way so it NR but if you cut the barrel your salf. It becomes prohibited so put the hacksaw away

It's to bad that no one is not making a 14" rifled shotgun barrel that would be the perfict bush rifle
T/C makes pistal barrel in 338 federal it won't be for shooting Long range and the recoil will be horrible but it would be handy in the bush and a back up for my ATRS Modern Hunter
I don't know if I coped the link right or not

This sounds like a natural fit for when Ruger resumes production of the 77 rotary rifles. Turning the 77/.357 into a 77/9mm would be a snap and would result in a very cool little toy...especially if they do it up with a 10-inch-or-so barrel.
