Arisakas for Sale?

Eaglelord17 - You are inside my head Eaglelord17! Yes I am in fact hoping for a T38 or T99 used during the First or Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) or the Pacific Theatre (1941-1945). Oh and I'm not really into last ditch T99s (forgive me).

Its ok not to be interested in specific forms of firearms. Personally last ditch of any firearms don't interest me. Just a small point, usually (I say usually as there are always exemptions) the Type 38s were used in China, and the Type 99s were used in the Pacific. The reason being to try and simplify ammo supply. The Japanese had quite a few different types of ammo in service at the same time, which was a major supply headache. Just a quick list which is in no way complete they had the 6.5x50sr, 7.7x58, 7.7x56r (basically .303 British), 7.92x57 (mostly captured Chinese weaponry, but some was purpose built or purchased as well), 9mm Japanese revolver, 8mm Nambu etc.

By trying to limit specific rifles to certain areas, it meant they didn't have to supply as many types of ammo to certain areas (and also meant supplying parts and replacements were easier too). I am going to be honest in that it might take a while to find one that is in great shape, however it is worth it in the end. Also these rifles shoot excellently provided you feed them good ammo.

Eaglelord17, I always knew and learned that the IJA and IJN had different war aims and strategies, but I never knew they used different rifles in the two theatres of war! And that explains it, never recall seeing many if any T99s in the Second Sino-Japanese War photos, and vice versa in the Pacific War. Another lesson learned, that you! Yes I'll be patient and keep looking til I find my dream T38 and T99, thank you! And feed them good ammo, duly noted!

Still alive, thank you sir, will do! Miss talking to you, how you been good buddy?! When the weather gets better I'll contact you and show you some of my recent purchases here, hope you find them cool like I do!

Phat Eagle, Unfortunately I missed that one... Would've grabbed it if it ever shows up again!

Butcherbill, what's a gun show glare? Please enlighten me I always love to learn Gunnut vocab!

To bad you aren't on the East coast, a friend I used to shoot with collected them. He has about 80 T99,s, maybe more. He's a cast bullet shooter and was hunting for the best shooter he could find. At the gun shops here you run across them fairly regularly, conditions vary.Prices are steadily climbing up. I have 2, one fairly nice the other a last ditch, both shoot good. I make cases from 30-06 brass, cast bullets fairly hard, use Lyman 311413 mold.

You are a very smart guy! I can't believe how much time I wasted following that thread!:(

Hello Robert, I actually went back after I posted and read more of the thread! It's quite fun to read, both entertaining and educational on the topic of manners lol!

d43p, yes I too realized that most of the milsurps come from the East Coast. Thank you for the information on the brass too, much obliged!

Anyone know of someone looking to sell his/her T38 or T99? My birthday is coming up the end of the month, hope I can finally buy something for myself that I actually wanted for once... Thanks in advance, much obliged!
