As an update, as I feel the purpose of message boards is to help the future people that read it, so I shot 2 686 SP1 Sporting today. 1 round of skeet each. I did not shoot them well, lol (15-16). But I don't think its the guns fault. Takes some time to adjust to a different firearm me thinks. I shot a 20 and 23 with my Franchi O/U.
Both of the SP1s were FAR above the quality of the other ones that I have seen. The fit finish and even wood (on one of them) was what I would considerer EL(EELL?)! If the ones that I saw at the store were like these, I would likely own one by now.
Both of the owners said they purchased 2 years ago. So, it looks like the quality had dropped a lot very quickly. There is a chance that the ones I looked at new were the remnants or a large shipment that had already been picked through, but QC is QC, somehow they got out of the factory!!
Anyways, talked to a few people about Rizzini, no one has heard of them, much less shot/owned. They do seem to have a loyal following though, that's for sure. I am a tad concerned about not being able to shoot/shoulder the gun first, and then what to do if warranty concerns and depreciation if I find its not for me and have to sell.
Going to clean my shotgun to make sure its ready for another 100-125 rounds tomorrow
