Ok
I can piece it together now.

Euxx: I presume you are Eugene who ran the website, but was let go and an excellent shooter.
Chris Babe: A shooter who was seen at all matches.
Simar: Ran OPSL with Alex
Me: A lowly newb who was banned after phantom DQ's

IPSC Ontario has the classic problem: Not letting new people in and make decisions. The place would stagnate and die without new blood.

The issue is not that Eugene was let go, but how he was let go. And mainly not to Eugene, but to the rest of the org, so few individuals at the board can have their egos satisfied. They still won't admit what kind of cluster***ck they got organization to.

As for DQs. Banning people and suspending on DQs are different things. The latter requires a safety recert with BB coordinator and process is more less well defined. But the former has no process for appeal and it is solely up to some persons will and grudges they hold against others.

Fifteen years ago I got my Black Badge and shot two seasons. I lost interest in the game when I was told 'to engage all targets through the windows'. I was DQ'd for shooting two targets from one window when I could get my hands in one window and safely shoot a second target that was visible. Freestyle was not what the organizer wanted; they/he wanted one target per window. But as a handgunning sport it is much more fun than bullseyes.

Irrational People Squabbling Constantly (IPSC)

As a guy that is steering as many people as I can towards IPSC this stuff bugs me. Drama drama drama. It was cool when I was banging a girl and her 8 friends at the same time when I was in my teens. But now not so much.

Back to small level 1 often maybe a 2 once in a awhile and that's it.

The drama is only there if you pay attention to it.
Shoot matches and ignore the rest, it the best shooting sport available that I know of.

The only problem is, its such an awesome sport that you can't help but want to get involved in more than just shooting matches.
That's when the drama appears.
Clashing views and personalities.
Sometimes spills over into forums such as this one, and being the competitors most of us are, we can't help but get our $.02 in.
Turns into a $hitshow pretty quickly.

L3's and above are where you get to really test yourself against the best in the sport.

Agree 100%. I apologize to Sean our Canadian Regional Director and others for any negative attention my original post may bring. I love this sport.

Was actually thinking of joining our local ipsc

After reading this I'll stick with open night steel challenges and cQB

As someone who is going into his third year of shooting IPSC in Alberta I can attest that our executive committee is run by an excellent group of friendly individuals. I have always felt welcomed and am looking forward to a busy and exciting season with lots of matches.

IMHO, this thread like many others, lacks context and has spiraled into a series of posts filled with conjecture, assumptions, and prejudices. Without any context, someone has been allowed to complain about a group of volunteers without providing the slightest bit of details. If the complainers have made an honest attempt with their local organizations to rectify their problems AND have not come to a resolution AND they feel this is the best place to settle this disputes, then state exactly why you are here complaining.

If not, the moderators should shut this thread down.

Give me a series of questions and I will answer them. I thought I explained what happened. This has nothing to do with the whole sport in general. I have shot 147 sanctioned matches since 2002 not including the regular club nights that I also ran myself up until recently. I will still enjoy shooting matches as usual just need some things to change and I'm far from alone in this.

With them being volunters doesn't mean they can do anything they want and go into a personal vendetta on other members of organization who voised their opinions or bring some criticism.

Besides, that small group of Ontario executives, does not run majority of matches. Those matches are run by many other volunters. Including jerks like myself.
