Deal Guidelines for Buyer & Seller - Please Read

It is sad that this needs to be posted. This is just the way honest, run of the mill folks should act. If you make a deal, get the deal done as fast as you can, and if you can't for some reason, let the other person know.

It all comes down to good comms.

But OP, I agree 100% with everything, and that is how I ran the few EE dealings I have made.

doesn't bother me, I just wondered why you would resurrect an almost 4 year old thread.

Who's counting? I mean besides you - and counting incorrectly as well, because this thread is almost 5 years old. :)

There's been a lot of new people joined since then.

My only problem with the EE is the trader rating. I think that once I agree to buy and send the money, after the seller receives the funds, they should give you a trader rating. You did your job. The sellers always seem to wait for you to give them a trader rating before they return the favor. As a seller, once I receive the funds the buyer gets a trader rating. Am I wrong here?

I feel your pain... I recently wanted to buy an item from an individual, told him I would take it, he quoted a shipping cost, then crickets...
Asked him twice over two days where to send the emt to, and no reply. Roughly a week later he re-posted the ad, at a higher price.

He claimed I "wouldn't take no for an answer". Well, he never said no, so I assumed the deal was on. Guess not, lol...

Edit: I left him a negative feedback, I believe rightly so, and then he turned around a gave me a negative. Fair? I dunno think so...

"A deal is a deal" works both ways!

If you have committed to "take it" at the sellers asking price and the seller has agreed, the seller should NOT PM several days later to say "Oh, I decided to include it in a package deal to someone else"!!

A deal is a deal. Do NOT use my item to "sweeten" a package deal!!!

I should leave HIM a negative feedback!

Over 200 transactions for me and not once has a Seller listed Feedback first, I as the Seller do not list it first either.

I agree there are 2 sides to the transaction and the Buyers only real involvement is sending the money along with good communications.

I believe it's more appropriate to leave feedback once the Buyer has his item and is satisfied with it. At that point the transaction has been fully completed, and both parties can post a "review" of their dealings.

I wait until buyer confirms he has received, and then I give a trader rating as a gentle reminder to buyer that he should leave a rating for me as well. Lots of buyers forget or just don't bother.

You gave negative feedback although transaction was not completed? Seems like vengeance to me. Feedback is by all means meant for a completed transaction.

Vengeance was not my motive. I felt I had been wronged, even tho no money changed hands. Actions such as that one are, in my old-fashioned mind, very rude, and poor "business" practice.
Should I have left neg feedback? Perhaps not. But if I had pulled such a nasty trick, or any nasty trick, on a potential buyer, I would expect to hear about it, up to and including "negative feedback".
Time and public opinion will be my judges. It is a matter of principle to me, and if that makes me look bad, so be it :)

Edit: If the fellow had replied and said something to the effect that " I feel this item is really worth a bit more, would you be willing to pay a bit more?" I would have had no problem with it. It is simply the fact that he completely ignored my follow-up pm's, ie: requesting where to send the money on what I believed to be a made deal. Communication, communication, communication is what it's all about :)

Believe me I am moving along I'm not trying to haggle people down I was just curious what the idea is being listed a gun used for $800 when I can order a new one online for $630.

But I take it there is no logic behind it so I guess I'll just move along.

Unfortunately to many Sellers go by the motto, (Every day a Fool is born) and start hunting to find it. Beware of the Seller which constantly moves BTT becous his stuff does not sell probably to expensive.
