Ok . Checked just now , Licence issued . If not received within 2 weeks contact them , Yee Haw .. No bad boxes checked on mine . So I think that was , received feb 10 th and issued march 31 st . I,m sure that if I had my reference guy call as soon as possible the process would have been faster . Good Luck to those reading and following behind me .
I would suggest have your reference person call as soon as possible AND I would say make sure you use references that are all ready PAL/RPAL[/QUOTE

Mine took 7 days to arrive to Ontario from License issued. My handgun arrived in mail today. RCMP said permit to transfer & registration will arrive next week. Then I'm good to go.

I thought the permit to transfer came built in with all the new Rpals

Oh I was unaware of this. Do you call into the cfo after the purchase to receive the new att card?

When you get the transfer the paper will tell you to call to arrange an ATT those are old. You can call but they will tell you a new card will be coming and that's it. If you're doing a private sale once you receive your temporary title you can legally go transport the gun you don't need to wait for the card. I say private sale because store owners will want the proper paperwork

No I meant references that are PAL / RPAL people cause they are like minded to us . You don't want to put like your g/friend and have her say OH I don't understand why he,s gonna buy guns , kinda thing .

Day 53 for me but im in no rush as i know it will take a while because i have a record plus checked the part about having the cops called in the last 5 years, i had 2 incidents in the last 5 years, plus i realized i had 2 warrants that are around 17 years old out of Ontario, so i have a lawyer dealing with them before i contact them about my Pal application. Im not even going to get into the details because it would take to long, but i am one that will be waiting a while till i get mine, thats if i get approved due to my past, but i have faith that i will, especially considering the canadian government will allow a guy who beheaded someone on a bus infront of people to be free to go then i shouldn't be denied LOL.

Here is my RPAL timeline (I already have a PAL):

CFSC Completed February 14, 2016
Application Delivered to RCMP March 7, 2016
Status Changed to Processing online March 23, 2016
Status Changed to issued online April 1, 2016

Does anyone know if my licence number will remain the same, or will it change? If so, how do I contact the Ontario CFO to get my new licence number as I can't seem to find a direct phone number for the Ontario CFO?

Your references don't need to be PAL holders. Just make sure they aren't anti gun

While true a PAL holder will understand the uses, even pro gun people might not own guns or know the laws. (Like they could say he wants a restricted gun for hunting deer or something silly like that.)

Thanks! Any direct # out there by any chance?

I've called that number and they will not give me my new license number nor will they direct me to anyone who will tell me. I was told that I will not be given my new license number, I must wait for it to arrive in the mail. They did confirm that the license numbers after the decimal will change, and that the numbers before it will remain the same.

Any advice ? Or do I just wait for it to be printed on Friday and wait for the mail?

CFSC Passed February 6th; received results back on March 9th.
PAL Application received in NB March 14th.
Called today as application status is not available online. Was told to wait a couple of days, check online status again and if not online to call back.

Got an update online when I checked Saturday: "Your application has been received. It is currently being processed. You have been, or will be contacted either by phone or by mail for additional information. Please check the status again at a later date."

I called in this morning to see if there was some missing information and was told that I forgot to put my name on the back of my photo so it was mailed back out to me on Friday for me to add my name and send back...
What a dumb move by me, can't believe I missed that; oye.

Thanks for your detailed instructions and advice, Unfortunately I live in Alberta and as mentioned in the edit to your original post it indeed does seem that the CFO is dragging out the process for as long as possible.
Don't know that it makes any difference but I applied for RPAL and PAL both and they only called one reference for interview, and i know all of the questions they asked and how she responded.

"Application Received on: 2015/11/13

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date. "

Called in and they said that the application was "on the CFO's desk" and that there were other applications ahead of mine that still needed processing, this was almost a month ago. still no change. Going on 6 months wait now :(
Is anyone else experiencing this with RPAL application in Alberta? Is this CFO sleeping at his desk!?!

Yes, the Alberta cfo is very slow right now. Especially if you have checked yes to any of the personal history questions.
As far as I can tell, there's basically nothing we can do besides sit and wait. I tried calling weekly and they just tell me that "they have a large caseload and will get to my application in the order it was received." So that's fine, I'm done calling. I'm pretty disappointed with the whole process.

I'm going on 64 days for an RPAL in Alberta. It has been with the CFO for 4 weeks now. I've given up and put this on the back burner hobby list.

The last few posts about Alberta are disappointing to see. Mine was received March 16 but not listed on the site yet. I know it's too soon yet, but hopefully they don't drag ass once it is up there.

I've heard varying wait times for Alberta. It seems like if it's just a standard PAL application with no flags, it can go through quick. If it's RPAL or flagged or both, prepare to wait.
