The Classic target is a harder target to shoot than the Metric, stage design varies on region and areas that you are shooting. It is more common to find hoser stages in USPSA, but you find them in IPSC too sometimes. More and more USPSA matches are throwing in Classic target stages too. While I think we should have been able to keep the Metric target as a target for countries that had no issue with it, I don't mind the Classic. Some places will actively discourage building stages that are obviously scenario themed, others don't care. I will admit to missing the cool scenario stages with the dramatic written stage briefings, but in the end the shooting was the same, and the WSBs started to get a bit long in the tooth after a while. I do wish we could have Polish plate racks and Texas Stars in IPSC, they are a ton of fun. I also find it hilarious that IPSC says we are the more practical side, and that we are sticking with our practical roots, but then remove Pepper poppers, Metric targets and scenarios from the rule book. But still, properly designed stages are a hoot to shoot regardless.
