Yes I agree with you. I've tried all the mounts for the vz58. My personal favorite is the NEA. For me personally the only use I see for the rear mounts is for a magnified optic like a vortex spitfire 3x or similar. To get the required eye relief. They are solid and hold zero. I find when I put a red dot too far back that it blocks my peripheral vision too much. Forward mount it seems to "disappear" better with both eyes open. I guess a lot of it boils down to personal preference.
Huh? I've never noticed this before. I put all my red dots out to the handguard on my AR's. Not sure how where the dot was placed on the rail would affect whether or not you can cowitness. Different height risers would affect it. Could you explain for me please. Thanks
