I found a really decent M91 and sold it an hour later at the Penticton Gun Show a couple of weeks ago. It had the same unique finger joints as those on Rob's M39.
I also picked up an M39 with a gouge out of the wood and a OK bore, worn, not pitted. It looked like it had been out in the field. It also lasted about an hour before someone just had to hit my price.
I have two Finn M91 rifles with excellent bores. One is a New England Westinghouse with its original barrel and the other is of unknown manufacture with a Czarist crest on the hex receiver and a replacement Tikka barrel. No SA or VKT stamps though. The latter is in excellent condition, the finish is pine tar. The Westinghouse was restocked and has a similar finish as Rob's rifle but is unusual in that the butt is Walnut and the fore end after the joint is Arctic Birch.
I was going to build up another Finn collection and now only have two. I am glad those rifles were resold in Penticton. I really don't need another addiction. They went a long way toward the purchase of an M1 Garand chambered in 308Win along with the winnings from the 50-50 draw.
That is a beautiful rifle Rob. I would have definitely kept that one. I hope it shoots as well as it looks.
