I've never gone Turkey hunting myself but my friend who lives in an area full of wild turkeys jokes that the best thing to hunt them with is a 5 iron. They just sit there ignoring you.
**Fore**
I got my tom today from my back porch with bow
Yeah right...

I don't think he would have needed much more than a 2x4 to bag that turkey
It was quieter than normal this morning... the toms didn't gobble on the roost and didn't gobble at the decoys until they were within 100 yards... they stopped to gobble a few times on the way in... once they were in the decoys at 30 yards, I counted to three and we both fired at our chosen bird (the one on our side)... they went down flapping.
There are videos for everything... get into the bush, with a tag, during the season and try it...
I can kill geese at the golf course with a putter, that doesn't mean you can do that in the field during hunting season... try actually hunting and get back to us on how easy it is.
We used to feed a big whitetail buck apples off our back deck at the cottage... go try to take a big whitetail buck in the field during hunting season... when you do we'll talk again... it'll likely be a couple decades from now...
Good stuff!..... Hope you made the young lad do the dirty work after with your gimp hand and all...
Well he had to carry his own bird and it was about ten pounds heavier than mine... that'll teach him!
Well, opening day was an interesting one. Called in two nice jakes at first light, then proceeded to miss the bloody shot at 25 yards! Im still trying to figure out how, but if i was to blame something, i would pick the earmuffs. Fast forward 4 hours...i called in a huge tom to about 20 yards when i decided to drop the hammer. Cant wait to put him on a scale. He's far bigger then my bird last year
