left hand m77, 3 rounds down and 3 round mag capacity. Ejector cannot slip down as it hits the cartridge and stops it from sliding down underneath bolt

I am assuming this LH rifle has the incorrect magazine follower? I cannot find anything online yet, and no other m77 LH to compare to except my LH m77 Scout rifle which uses centerfeed Detach mags

thx for any info!!!

Seems that it's in the correct position and doesn't have much room to move, the front of the floorplate and front of trigger guard anchor it in spot. I think the issue may be that the floorplate/mag spring won't allow the cartridges to push down enough, even if I slide the top round forward in the magazine to allow the ejector to clear the case head, the bolt is still barely able to slide over the top round.

hope that made sense

So it looks like the LH gun uses the same follower as the RH gun, and the top round (with three down) is under the right rail in both guns.

And in the case of the #2 round in the RH gun under the ejector, the mag box / spring / follower combo has enough room to let the ejector push the head of the case down slightly.

If that is the case, I suppose you need to call Ruger and ask for a true LH follower, if it exists.

Assuming this is a new rifle since you just found the issue?..... Why modify or fabricate anything?..... Reach out and get a new part.....

I think that's what he's going to do. But twenty minutes has it modified. Much quicker than waiting for Ruger to quit ringing their hands trying to figure out how that part can come across the border. They're idiots of the highest order.

Fair enough..... But I would ask for a new one before doing anything to this one.....

How do you figure that?

Snapshot orders parts just like the Canadian service depots for all the other manufacturers... they all have to deal with ITAR and our Canadian laws... I have never had any problem getting Ruger parts over the past 30 years... pre & post 911.
