2016 CDTSA Multigun Matches **critical UPDATE Post 251 ** SEPT Match

So...just to reiterate:

This is open to non-CDTSA members; this is open welcome to noobs; we just show up the day of; if we don't know any of you, it will be a fun day; bring water and food?

I watch 3-gun on youtube whenever I need a gunnut fix...would love to try it out! June date is my daughter's birthday so am booked for that, so I will likely come out the next one, in August!

If I come I'll be shooting an XCR (hope that's ok...yes yes it's a boutique gun but it is fun to shoot) in .223; a Fabarm SDASS; Sig P226 9mm. Also have a tactical vest from TSE that fits quite tight, but holds plenty of mags.

To CCWCanada.... yep :)
Its that easy. If you track me down early enough I can give you a run down on every. You can also PM me or Clockwrkz if you have any questions.

Long story short we were working on getting a vendor in to do all the target resets for us but that fell short.

So, I am doing a call out to see if anyone wants to volunteer at the match. Or has kids that we can work like a sweat shop? (We will cover their guest pass, afterwards if they want to pair up with someone to do some shooting that would be OK)

PM me

Thanks

Depending on the numbers you get you could break-down the day into morning and afternoon squads.
Half the squads shoot the morning and work the afternoon and the other half, vise versa. It works very well and has proven to be one of, if not the, most efficient ways to run a squad/stages based match and happens to be an excellent way to quickly re-set labour intensive stages to boot.
Of course if you have 4 stages in 4 bays, you'd ideally have 8 squads.
Pre-registration really comes in handy with the logistics of it, but it isn't necessary.

I'm all for supporting matches at a local club level, as the match fees go back into buying props, and targets and trophies, etc.
I'm less than enthusiastic about attending matches that are run by a third party organizer who is profiting from the matches.

Yeah, I have seen you comment this before.
I like the idea and may have to play around with this soon.

Thanks belt.

Will we be seeing you this year?

June Match

Approx round count. (Still subject to change). IF you shoot perfect (Which no one will). Is 61 Rifle, 46 pistol, 46 Shotgun and 2 slugs. **Rules of thumb is to double the count**

I suggest to edit your OP with info such as this just so that newcomers to this thread don't need to ask again or need to search through the pages for it.

I also would like to know how many rounds would be fired in each "session", or course, or I mean, in a given shooting drill. Is it 46 shotgun rounds in a single drill? I don't think they make shell carriers that big! The point being, how many mags to be required in each shooting drill, how many shot shells (how big of carrier will I need...lol), etc? Obviously with 5 or 10 round mags, then you need either 12 or 6 (at least) of them if the course had us shooting 61 rounds in one "run". Obviously I suspect that the rounds are actually broken up into different stages etc.

So, just also put up there how many mags we might need, how many shot shells we would need to carry, etc.

Newb here...just trying to make sense of it and help other newbs.

Agreed... Round count per stage would be nice, especially if the detail COF will remain a mystery. :)

I don't have the numbers with me right now but I will average it out for it.
I think it's pretty balanced. (unlike the large shotgun stages we had last year.... Which I will miss until we can get a jungle lane or something like that)

I also agree with the fellow noobs... As the information becomes available, It would be great to have more in depth information on general course layout, round counts etc.

What keeps the shooters from all working together to set/reset the stages up ?

Correct. In the past we never used volunteers and it has been mandatory for all to help reset the stages.

If there are no volunteers to help run, then that's how it will be this year too. We were just trying different things to make life easier for us all.

(I am pretty sure that is stated In the rules too)

Rifle Breakdown, 10,18,15,18 Perfect
Shotgun breakdown 10,10,10,16 Perfect
Pistol 10,12,12,12 Perfect
Slugs 2,0,0,0 Perfect
Other 2,0,0,0 Its a surprise :D

That's it for details. We don't post the Cof a head of time. Everyone will be on the same page at the same time when the match starts. We have never had an issue with gear as most people are happy to lend stuff to newbies. On stages that are abnormal, like a 30 round shotgun stage I provide a shotgun MicroRig from ammosupply for anyone to use. I wasn't planning on bringing it this match though so if anyone wants to use it they need to PM me.

(If you want a sneak peak of the CoF then you should help setup the night before with Clockwrkz)

awesome, those rifle round counts make me feel more confident about mag storage space on my plate carrier :) ..... plus I may be able to get 2 volunteers

SUPER EXCITED, going to Milo Sunday morning to practice/tweak things.

Important First Match Info

Registration opens at 9am, Safety Brief at 930, first shots at 10 (I hope) So come prepared please.

We were out there last Sat and got FRIED. It gets hot out there with no shade. So if you have portable sun shelters, golf umbrella or anything to keep you cool. Bring it. Bring LOTS of water. Bring sunblock. Bring some food as there wont be time to run into town to get some.

(This has been added to the original post)

ALSO, looking for MEMBER Volunteers. (Need to be members for insurance reasons).
We need help for the initial setup on Saturday. (We will be camping out there too so we don't have to drive back to town. EDIT Camping out there is only authorized by match directors, it is not an every day thing.)
More details on Saturday setup please PM me or Clockwrkz

Never been to the Milo range...are there sanitation facilities there as we're spending the day?
