Give ATRS a call, they build a solid rail and rings. If your on a budget, mystic sells a brand rail(cant recall manufac.....EGW?) that are a little cheaper but good quality, and the tactical rings from vortex are ok to. No need to lap anymore, waste of time.Better to spent more if you can, but with the latter or similiar you'll be ok. Budget $200 minimum for the mounting setup.
basic explination. Reticle changes in size on FFP, and the distance between the numbers on the reticle are consistsant. Ie, if you were looking at a target that measures 2 Mils in your scope in height, and you zoom in or out, the reticle will grow or shrink as the target does, but that target will still be 2 mils, regardless of magnfication.
sFP, reticle doesnt change in size, and is only accurate for measurement on one power, usually the highest.
Benefits and pitfalls to both. Advice would fall for a Ffp, but you can learn just fine with sfp if budget limits.
