Was at the Canadian Tire store (Rocky Mountain House, AB) yesterday. I noted they had a few beginner rifle packages in stock:
1) Winchester XPR with a 3-9 Vortex scope. Also 2 clips - $725.99. (.270 Win)
2) Browning X-Bolt with a 3-9 Leupold VX 2 - About $1000.00 (.30-06, 7mm Mag, and .300 Mag)
3) Savage Axis Camo bull barrel ( Accutrigger) with a 3-9 Bushnell - Between $800.00 and $910.00 (.308 Win, .243, and .22-250)
I realize these are not the top end rifle and scope models, but perhaps great for a beginner. Are these prices reasonable
BTW, that place is impressive for a CT. Large variety of rifles (including Kimber, MOA Evolution package with Nightforce scope, Montana, Fierce, Blaser, Ruger Precision...to name a few), shotguns, scopes, and so forth. And they actually have experienced Hunting Pro Shop staff working there...including weekends. Not bad at all.
