Update: Original message was posted at 6pm Wednesday. Was in contact with Staff (Travis) by 900am Thursday (Today) which I believe is very quick to reach a resolution. Travis was prompt with his emails and detailed. I took him up on his offer to honor the website pricing. I feel regardless of everything that happened this was a stand up thing to do. As an unexpected bonus they shipped the stock for free and to add to it they shipped it today, within an hour of purchase. Mistakes always happen in life, I believe it is what people (and businesses) do with these mistakes that demonstrate their character. I don't believe anyone would be fair in requesting a more favorable outcome and I personally feel that Wild West Gun Shop has actually gone beyond in showing that they care about their customers. Additionally Travis was very easy to talk to and a stand up representative of this business. Regardless of where anyone landed on this debate I think everyone can agree that in the end it is fantastic to see companies who go the extra mile to support shooting sports in Canada. I feel Wild West Gun Shop has proven they are one of those companies. Thanks.

Final Update: Someone down here mentioned ridiculous shipping from Wild West, well I can attest to that. Product arrived at my door the very next day! I don't know if I have ever seen quicker shipping from a company. Really incredible. As I said before I know there are many different opinions of what happened and various opinions of me and my actions, and that's fine! What a great shooting community site where we can share opinions in a civilized manner to discuss issues. As I said before regardless of where you stand on my actions I think the actions of Wild West speak louder than anything else. If you are of the camp that what I did was petty isn't it great that a company went above and beyond to fix such a petty issue? If a company does such great work to accommodate annoying customers, just think how they will treat good customers. Would not hesitate to order from again and Travis is the real deal when it comes to customer service. Thanks.

Before I get into my little rant here I just want to say whoever I spoke with on the phone was very polite, very friendly and I in no way am annoyed or dismayed at that individual.

Browsed your website with the shipping promo interested in throwing my business your way. Looking at picking up a Magpul SGA stock for the Mossberg 500/590. Check it out on your website, price listed as $134.99. Great price! Can add it to my cart and everything to check tax, great.

But there is a problem, the picture is for a Rem 870 and so is the description. So I decide to call just to confirm that what I am about to order is in fact for the Mossberg. Once again spoke with a very polite and friendly employee on the phone.

She was helpful and found the stock for me, but guess what it is $155.99, pretty significant difference. To add to it your manager will not honor the website price which seems pulled from no where.

Every company prices Mossberg and Rem 870 SGA stocks roughly the same so unless they are last year model no idea where that price difference is coming from.

So to say in the least I am annoyed. Incorrect website price. Incorrect website description. Topped off with a manager without a customer first mentality. I shutter to think what I would have ended up with if I actually placed my order as the system puts me all the way to the final processing point and quotes me that price.

Unlikely to do business with ever.

PS: Representative on the phone you were very helpful, thank you.

if you dont like the price shop elsewhere... obviously there was an error somewhere in their system... in the end they gave you a price and you werent having it

but if the 20 bucks is what made you this upset you had to post this............... first world problems

I would hope a professional business would have correct pricing for their online store. Just screams of poor management

I called up about a Sig 22LR they had on their website. It showed in stock but wasn't. They said they could order it for me. I was willing to put money down on it until they said they wouldn't be able to give me final pricing on it until it actually came in. I asked how much it could fluctuate and they said they couldn't say. But my deposit would be nonrefundable.

No thank you.

Seriously? This is because of $20.00? If the picture don't match what you're buyin' for, best leave it and find the picture that does match your set up. Just sayin'... $20.00!!! Guess you don't drink scotch... $20.00 hahaha

I guess you could say oh it's just $20. But if that is all you can focus on you are kind of missing the point.

Call me crazy, but prices listed on websites should be the price they are listed for. Or don't provide a wed site one can order from.

And I never cursed this store into the ground. I said my complaint. Even said some positives of the company (ie. Sales representative).

If you don't have a problem with mislabelled prices, items, descriptions then ya this wouldn't bother you. I guess other companies spoiled me.

ive discovered...online sales are ususlly an afterthought for most businesses ...not all but most

i never trust an items in stock. i never trust the price is infact recent... i always phone in an order its saved me some headaches.... in this case if you had just ordered it you coulda got the wrong item so its good u called....maybe you would have got the right item we eill never know

our dollar is in the crapper...everyone raised prices since ordering new things costs more than things ordered in the past... so your stock may have been infact new.... not last years....at new pricing

To some it is. Depends on ones point of view.
Some people also need to realize mistakes can be made with any company, it could have been as small as one single product not being updated. Sure every penny counts, but if $20 dollars is gonna break ya, perhaps financial priorities need to change. I'm sure synthetic stocks taste like ####(not saying that pertains to you op)

I love how people jump all over someone else that bothers to make a post about a bad experience. Dollar value is irrelevant. The fact he took the time to state his experience in the proper forum should be appreciated and not attacked. Thanks for your post!

I can understand op...you guys are saying it's just 20 bucks.

which it is.

However it's like 15% markup on what he expected to pay. which on anything is annoying.

Give them a break. Businesses are hard to run perfectly. Imagine someone nitpicking all and everything you do. Multiply that by 10 is what businesses go through daily with people complaint about a website.

Don't get me started on websites..

3 different stores and 3 similar experiences. 1st store... Brand new Beretta 92fs advertised online for $550. Arrived at my door in 2 days but when I check my visa it was close to $900. Looked on the web site again and the ad was nowhere to be found so I called the store and they honoured the price and refunded me the difference. 2, store Ruger 22/45 target $50 off retail but when the pistol arrived I paid full price. Called the store and the money was refunded the next day. 3rd store $400 less for my target rifle... their mistake so I got the rifle for the lower price. All 3 store are in Southern Ontario. Bottom line, competition is stiff and the gun community is small, if a company makes a mistake they should write it off as good PR.
