I have also read key mod is more complex to manufacture/machine there for costs more.

That's just dealer markups in Canada. Case in point - there is no official BCM distributor in Canada, everything are grey market imports. The dealers here have to pay a higher price to import them from the US dealers and in turn they charge more. If you actually look at Brownells pricing KM accessories are almost always cheaper.
I'd still like to see you come up with actual prices where MLok accessories are cheaper than KM in MSRP.

With the reports from numerous manufacturers of mlok rails out selling keymod by a large margin, and the adoption of Mlok by a company as influential as Colt Canada, I fail to see how keymod isn't on at least a slow decline.

supplies rifles to, IIRC, something like 17 different SOF units, and they didn't build a KM version because nobody asked for one.
I appreciate your loyalty to your friend but that battle has already been decided.

Tell us, which Mil/LE unit placed an order for those CC MRR? And for how many?
According to odell, MRR will be in short supply as CC is currently filling LE/Mil orders.
I can't give you a number...but I heard they did get favoured over the T97 and MKA shotguns, amazingly enough.
But hey, if you figure CC is done supplying rifles to LE and Mil, maybe the T97 has a shot.

I think there is a YouTube video comparing Keymod vs M-Lok, saying one was easier to mount accessories than the other. I just can't remember for sure.
There are lots of videos on this. And keymod costs more to machine including nuts. It's simple to understand and plenty of manufactures have said so. Google Fu, will get you basic answers really quick.

I have no skin in this game but I will say that keymod looks a lot better from a purely astetic point of view. Where as one is a lot stronger than the other, I have no idea. I do like the accessories KDG is developing for the m-lok system though. Those look great as 120ish so aptly pointed out.
All things considered I prefer the esthetics of keymod too. I've noticed some mlok lightweight rails that look a little delicate.. but don't know because I've not used them specifically or had hands on.

I recently ordered a Troy PAR in 308 (cause I'm a sucker for all things NR and black). I just wish Troy had gone with one or the other as opposed to their own....whatever the #### they call it, rail.....It doesn't look terrible, but if I'm ever going to buy accessories, the cheaper and more common attachment system the better in my point of view. Either way, I hope 1 wins out soon so I can quit seeing the threads pop up here and there that just end up turning into a #### measuring contest in the end.
I hear you! I have a friend looking to buy one, and it's tempting but I'll pass. For me I'm more practical for reliability, availability and cost. Hopefully that PAR treats you well. I have other forends on different black guns with proprietary rails and that sucks.
