Hahaha. That's awesome!!

I have been shooting the Sellier & Bellot ammo for quite a while in all my handguns, from 9mm to .44 Mag. Great stuff, brass case, very clean, consistent, snappy. I also get it at a great deal from a supplier in AB (that I can't link). In the last couple years I have been paying:

$11.99-12.99 per box of 50 (124 gr) for 9mm
$20.99 for .38 Special
$20.99 for .45 ACP
$21.99 for .357 Mag
$31.99 for .44 Mag!! (I bought 1200 rounds at that price, I'm good for a while!)

I didn't buy any .40 S&W because I had a huge pile of that already, and don't shoot it that often, but price is consistent with above. I haven't found anyone who is in that price range, particularly for such a good quality ammo. I prefer it to American Eagle, Remington, Wolf (by far) Winchester....just had great consistent shooting. I bought a pile of ammo last year (10K rounds), so haven't bought this year, don't know what his current prices are, but any time I have checked he is always lower by a good margin.

Similar boat! Just bought my first handgun on the EE (P226R), and while waiting for CFC approval and the gun to arrive I ordered up 500rds 124gr AE FMJ from SFRC. Have dealt with them often in the past and have nothing but good things to say! If you subscribe to their email list you get promo codes for discounts about once every 3 weeks (usually around holidays and special events).

I shoot American Eagle 115 or 124 out of mine 99% of the time with 0 issues. I've shot a few boxes of Winchester white box when it was on sale with no issues either. They're fantastic guns and will likely eat anything you throw at it.

^^^^^^^
These are both good selections. Don't shoot steel cased ammo (Barnaul) for the few cents you save per round you will spend more having to change out your extractor. The steel is really hard on the extractor claw. Additionally, if you shoot a lot and the pistol chamber gets hot, the lacquer coating on the steel cases can start to melt / get sticky and result in stuck cases / FTE.

You purchased a quality pistol, recommend you buy quality brass cased ammo.

For the extra cleaning and a replacement extractor every 5000 rounds or so, I'd say the savings in shooting Barnaul is worth it.
