I have done literally hundreds of transactions on the EE here, ranging in $ from 25 - 30 right up to 2000.00+

Never had an issue worth mentioning, really. I have always corrected my own mistakes promptly and willingly.

Makes for good relations all around. Dave.

I have had hundreds of excellent transactions with conscientious fellow shooters on the EE... ask for pictures, ask for a "statement of condition" (far better than pictures)... and ask if there is "anything else you should know about the item." I have had FAR fewer problems with items purchased in the EE than I have with NEW items purchased at my LGS or online dealers like Cabela's etc...

If you don't want to deal... that is your loss.

Its ok to ##### about the greatest buy/sell forum to ever hit Canada. But It amazes me how this system does so well on the honour system. Kudos to all on the EE. The only negative transaction I have ever had is a retail in person sale where the retailer would not take care of a simple warranty issue that involved replacing a part he had on the shelf. Be patient and don't be so quick to dirt bag a seller until you have exhausted all other avenues

The EE on this site has a lot of fantastic, honourable people no doubt. That's definitely what caused me to be so relaxed. And I've yet to "dirt bag" anyone. And when you say "exhaust all other avenues" what do mean? I'm sending emails to his phone and PMing him here....

Interested to know what others think. How long do you go with no response from a seller before conceding you've been screwed?

Yes, you need to allow more time for information exchange. Its a long weekend and prime vacation time. My computer is always on so that little green light on my avitar is probably on even when I'm gone for several days, maybe your seller is in a similar position.

I have come across one or two items on EE where the picture has stock repairs (non milsup) that would be normally disclosed and
which would have been an unwelcome surprise but have been lucky enough to spot them by carefully looking at the pics so it was
never an issue.

Certainly the pictures with the problems were posted so you could catch them so it wasn't complete deception but would
have been unwelcome as a surprise when it arrived for sure if I had not caught them.

Hope it works out.

I've had pretty good luck so far. Only one deal I wasn't happy with. Pics of the gun were taken straight on and it showed quite well but in hand looking at anything other than straight on it had those multiple fracture type lines in the stock/forend finish older Brownings are famous for. I contacted the seller to inform him I was not pleased with the condition and that I felt he had not given full disclosure, especially since I had asked every pertinent question. I said I wanted a refund and would send the gun back. He agreed and paid me after receiving the gun. He then reposted his ad with a significantly lower price and a big whaaa about not expecting a perfect gun for the price like some on here, lol. I never posted a trader rating. I just left it as is but I know I would never deal with him again and he sells ALOT of guns on here.

Sorry to hear about the issue you're having. I've had a deal go south, which is never fun to deal with, but fortunately the seller was good about it and gave me a full refund, no harm, no foul!

I too am quite surprised and impressed with the EE and how well the trader rating system seems to work here. It is hands down the only place I will buy privately online. I had a friend get burnt on another firearms classifieds site after repeatedly telling him to come here instead. He got his share of "I told ya so!"s.

Thanks to all the honest folks out there!!!

You got burned???? I put a Montana 270 up on trade for a scope. It is mint condition with 106 documented rounds. I was after a Sightron. OP messages me and offers to buy it cash instead. Asks for pictures. I sent them. Sends the money I send the rifle expedited service as agreed. Whats the problem?

Im on holidays right now, the one time per year i dont need to be attached to my email like a ball and chain.

I have a few negatives because when people dont follow through on their deals I leave negative feedback knowing I will get some but I do it for the greater gun nut community so they can make informed decisions. That is the purpose of the feedback system.

My exact experiences. I also try my best to make sure all parties are happy. I did have a dickhead buy a Vortex PST off me a year or so ago...was a complete prick but for the most part everyone has been great.

Well you have my $$ and I have an 8400 not an 84L. And I've recently been informed that you "dont do returns my friend". So yeah...burned would be a good word to use.

Pretty sure I just got burned on a pretty expensive deal. I let my guard down and jumped in a bit quicker than I normally would have because the guys avatar shows a trader rating of 445 100%. If I'd have gone to the trouble of checking his profile and feedback score I would have seen that the guy has a bunch of negitive (red) and I would have been much more cautious. Not sure why the % system shows up this way...just a heads up guys, check those feedback scores.

...........2 out of 500+ transactions is not "a bunch"

If the trader system rounded down to 99% would that have made a difference?

Please show me an email where you asked if it was an 84L or an 8400 I would have happily looked and told you. I sell hundreds of guns and cant read your mind. I sent a 270 Montana in mint condition. End of story.

For the record, I happily refunded money in the 2 or 3 cases out of 500+ deals that I misrepresented something inadvertently. In this case the buyer was so eager to get the rifle apparently he didnt think to ask any questions. That is squarely on the buyer. Also, had I not been on holidays I would have done the return to help the guy out. But since hes calling me out like this I have to think twice

Communication doesn't seem to be either of the parties strong suit.

If I felt that I bought an item that was misrepresented, a Negative Feedback would be issued. No returns, at your own risk - guess the OP is stuck with an item he thought was a different one.

From the seller's "you didn't ask so I didn't tell you" response, it seems warranted in this case. Skirting the rim of shadiness...

Many people have 100% feedback because others are too scared for retaliation when they post it. However, the seller cannot give the Buyer retaliatory negative feedback.

Usually these threads get locked, so here's hoping there's a resolution.

I'll admit I never asked. But while negotiating on your high asking price I directed you to a NEW dealer ad for an 84L for a comparison on where your price should be. Being that you sell hundreds of guns...you should know that an 8400 in 270 should not be compared to a new rifle....but you kept your mouth shut.

If we're telling all then it should be added that you had my money before I gave you the EMT password and delayed sending pictures until the money was in your account.

If you sell so many guns then this one refund should be nothing. I will take 100% of the blame if that makes it easier for you.
