I can't believe Weaver hasn't been sued for this. The box says only, "Fits firearms with Weaver top mount bases". There is no warning about them being designed for Weaver Grand Slam bases only. The recoil lug on the Grand Slam does not extend the full width of the base. It is only in the center. It apparently deliberately omits and just barely contacts the bearing surface sections (one on either side) on traditional Weaver bases. It will fit them, but the recoil lug does not function, it just barely hangs on by only the tiniest section on either side of the base. They may have tried to avoid lawsuits by stating in the instructions to use "appropriate" Weaver bases, but the instructions are inside the packaging and not accessible until after purchase.
These rings look very dangerous and I wouldn't think of putting them on a rifle with normal Weaver bases.
