Polish Random Viz 35

Yeah, I'm always looking for new ones. I've sort of streamlined the ones I'm looking for.

The Switzer gun looks great, looks to have an original finish - great condition too. Its a first alphabet J-prefix. It's tough to say if it's all matching, but that's what you get in an auction. If those brown grips are authentic Bakelite, then they are pretty rare. Most first alphabet prefix guns have black grips with small screws and bushings. This one has brown grips with small screws an bushings. Once again, it's tough to say if they are current reproduction plastic or original Bakelite. I'd rate it at a solid 8/10, assuming it is all matching, the bore is as described, and if those grips are Bakelite.

I don't see it selling for less than $1000 so get ready. Good luck, and let us know if you get it.

If you are just looking for a shooter, they sell for less than $1000. But an all matching, complete gun will cost you at least $1000. An all matching refinished gun just sold for approx $850, and there was also a mismatched for a little less than that, if I'm not mistaken.

Cabelas Winnipeg has one in the gun library, but they want north of a G for it. Sorry I forget the exact price, and I know not what to look for in them.

North of $1000 is not unheard of. Several things affect price. In fact, some sell for $4000 USD, some for $7000 USD.
All matching, original finish, condition of finish, original or repro grips? Was it used as a shooter for the last 70 years or is it a minty bring-back? Does it include a correct, original holster? And then you need to consider which serial number range. Lots to think about and affect price. Some people just want a shooter and would be happy with a parts gun. Some want a mint copy for their collection. Large price gap between the two.

It looked decent, had nice brown stocks, and claimed to be nazi marked. Might well be a hell of a value.

I'd be just looking for a shooter myself. I'm patiently waiting for the new production ones that Corwin was wanting to bring in, if they ever get built.

I didn't even know about the icollector site until tonight, awesome! I registered to bid on both Vis 35's they have on that site. I'm thinking that I would like to spend about $1000 on one. I appreciate the information provided Squadron303 on the one at Switzer's. I think I will take a shot at that one and cross my fingers that it stays under $1000. I'll let you know if I get it and will post pictures. A new production one would be interesting, would they be made at Radom?

The new production guns have already sold out. There were 50 pieces. No new ones on the horizon. I'd like one more than anyone, but there are no plans to produce more. Anyways, already a thread about this. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1394241-New-production-Radom-VIS

Correction Re:Switzers auction. The RT side appears to have large screws. That doesn't mean that the grips aren't authentic. Maybe the gun originally came with brown grip panels, and the RT one broke and was replaced with the easier-to-find late-war large grip screw brown grip. Just a heads up, it doesn't look 100% original. (Look to the bottom screws to compare the two sides).
Also, full disclosure, I will not be bidding on this and have no personal interest in the gun.

Any body tried new production mags in their guns? I got one from Marstar and it won't fit.

Most new production mags need to be fitted. Where is it binding? It could be as simple as the grip screws being too tight and obstructing the magazine from the inside. Without seeing the problem, it could also be the magazine lips. Most of the problems with new production magazines are the feed lips. Either too wide or narrow. That's my best guess(es?).

Just a follow up. The one at cabelas Winnipeg is just north of $1600. Seems rather steep.... They also have an old 455 1911, I'm guessing from the same collection, and a 455 Webley revolver with a spare .22 conversion cylinder.

Tough to say without knowing which serial range the gun is from, or what condition. Like I said earlier, lots to factor in to the price. Thanks for finding out anyways.

Dammit I was out a little late last night and checked the auction for the Vis on Switzers and it sold for $700!!! Kicking myself in the butt for missing it. I guess I'll have to be patient.

I saw that too, I thought it would fetch at least 1000.
