help with BSA SHTLE markings

Short Magazine Lee Enfield No. 1 Mark 3 (Could be Mark 3* but the " * " is faint or the rifle not modified the the later pattern as photo not clear.)
However, the Broad Arrow inside the "D" indicates Australian ownwership so it is possible not been modified. Made by Birmingham Small Arms in 1913.
The second picture is commercial proof marks with a Birmingham proof and cartridge information. The "star" stamped on the barrel underneath these proof
markings is a "sold out of Service" marking.

The serials match for action barrel and bolt, however the stock is a sporter. Too bad

They are commercial proof stamps stamped over the original proof stamps, here is a 1911 BSA proof stamps without the commercial over-stamps.
Civilian (Birmingham or London Proof House) proofs required on all firearm sold in the United Kingdom. Illegal to sell without.
