Yeah..talking about a niche market that's quite true...taking a run at building an XM177 clone and it's not too impossible..aside from one part .Where did all the carry handle uppers go..? Which one of you buggers is hoarding them?
Damn things seen as rare as unicorns..

Not quite accurate for what you want but Whyndam still does the odd run of C7 uppers. I don't believe that that they list it, you have to call and order it. Not shure who's importing them.

I've got a couple of builds on the go. I just buy parts whenever I find them. Currently doing a Colt 727 and have an IDF Menusar in mind as well. Someday I'll do a proper first gen C8 as well. I already have the upper and Thermelts.

They pop up on the EE now and again. I got mine from the Irunguns M16A1 parts kit order.

Having just finished my M16A1 build, I am now slowly working on a M727 build based off Operation Gothic Serpent/Black Hawk Down.

I just had a complete SGW gun configured very similarly to an XM on the EE but josey_wales snagged it. I decided to try to get one of the upcoming Colt special edition ones instead since it'll be more authentic.

I still have a Colt 723/early C8 clone up for sale which is really light and handy, you might want to check it out. I love old school carry handle ARs!

I think they're only making 1500 of them so likely not many, but they'll be authentically rollmarked even with SAFE-SEMI-AUTO so they'll be worth hunting down!

I have a stripped large hole colt A1 (no brass deflector) I was going to list, I was going to take pics tonight and list tomorrow.

BTW thanks for that Oly a very sweet piece :)

Didn't the RCMP say something ridiculous like auto markings and fake sear pins are a no no? I seem to recall something like that when ATRS started making lowers.

BTW, a 723 and C8 are not the same thing. 723 has .625" FSB and the C8 is .750" but maintains the lightweight profile with a more pronounced (larger dia) flare at the muzzle. The C8 is the only carbine I know of that used that specific profile but it appears to be one of the options considered during the XM4 program. 723 had fiberlite stocks, C8 came from the factory with two position buffer tubes and aluminum buttstocks. Fiberlite were later used as replacements.

Before the RCMP went completely rouge I'd have said this sounds too far fetched to be anything but rumour, but lately I wouldn't put it past them while they are inventing laws.

Sorry, the original C8 original FSB was .625" I have one in my collection. They may have switched latter, but the first issue C8 barrels were definitely .625". Can post pics of required.

I think the Dutch contract ones were .750". I would have to check.

I have a minty upper, couple of A1 grips, stock and 2 position buffer tubes. It's all NOS. Might part with it if I can get my hands on Colt limited editions.

I have a colt M16A1 parts kit i'm using to build up into a 7XX series SBR. I'm so excited for it, I probably won't have it complete till after the new year when I get my barrel assembly for it.

There is nothing illegal about appearances, but it would be a good idea not to mark it since you risk it being siezed and maybe charged until they determine it is not actually FA.
