Anyone working on a retro build

Sorry, the original C8 original FSB was .625" I have one in my collection. They may have switched latter, but the first issue C8 barrels were defiantly .625". Can post pics of required.

I would most definitely be interested. All the ones I've ever seen/handled in the CF are/were .750" and most were of 85,86 vintage. There was a barrel that just sold on the EE that is also .750". The barrel is a lightweight profile but with .750" FSB.

Here is mine. it is 5/8th ...

Well that is very interesting. Do you know the history of the barrel? Can you show the profile behind the handguard cap?

Where are people finding these barrels?

Please Post some 607 Pictures derrob7 :)

Such a beauty!!

I will as soon as I start getting it all together.

I'm having to fabricate most of it so it is taking some time getting it together piece by piece. Fake flash hiders, barrels, lowers are all in different stages.

The a1 lowers have become a real sticking point as I have them blueprinted and made a prototype but I still have to figure out anodizing before I do a run of them. Only able to build one of each style as well with out a manufacturers license. On the list is an M16A1, M16A1 Mk18, 607, XM177E2 and maybe one more. Too much want so I'm trying to prioritize. Haha.

No Doubt. I have a bunch of parts stacking up for my 607 build and your right about the A1 lower. I may have to build it off a A2 because I'm getting itchy to get it together.

I've got 2 1/2 retro AR's. The Colt scope was on the Commando at the bottom, but it fits with my SP1 better and now I'll be picking up an Aimpoint 3000 to go on the Commando.

I know the Dutch C8A1 had the .750" FSB and M4 feed ramps. They were identified by the 2 on the barrel by the batch number.

Well I'm still working on the XM177E2 and 607 carbines but I managed to get this Colt 733 Commando together in the meantime. Just need to replace the Surefire 660 with a 6P so it fits under the FSB and handguard better, mill off the bayonet lug and maybe give it a new paint job (still on the fence about that one, lol).

Whoa! Don't chop that bayo lug, you'll ruin the value.

Just rotate the mount so that the lug isn't in the way. It will put your pressure switch in a friendlier position.

6P or classic weapon light would look more retro though. Where'd you find the mount? I can't find any Surefire ones but the Chinese copies are only $5 or so.
