I prefer asking in an open forum. It is against the rules to post their reply to a PM, and there are more invested than one solitary message sender.

Well, if they reply, it'll be a start. I'll see if they have any answers, and if so, I'll ask that they either they post them to the forum or allow me to. If they don't have any answers, I'll ask why not. Better than nothing, no?

Sounds like some reasonable questions. In turn, I just them a pm with a link to your post, to get the ball rolling.

I don't know how often they check the forum, or their pm's for that matter, but if I don't get a reply soon, I'll try emailing next.

Nothing reasonable about it. You placed a pre-order expecting a TARGET delivery date sometime in Q3 2016. TI has stated that that target delivery date is still valid and achievable and that is all you need to or are entitled to know. Honestly, reading this thread is like being in a car load of kids on a road trip who keep asking "are we there yet?" every 30 seconds.

Yes, some are being quite extreme about all this, but you being extreme in the opposite direction isn't going to help anything. I was just looking for some middle ground. Read my posts, I have also advised waiting until the end of the month before getting anxious. TI has said there is no update, but 'fenceline' has some questions that TI should reasonably be able to answer, and they're aren't "are they here yet?". Some people have laid down a good chunk of money in good faith, there is nothing wrong with asking some questions about the logistics of the order. If TI can provide some info to put his customer's minds at ease, then so be it... it's called good customer service.

Meh! I'm prepared to wait, came into this prepared to wait. Good news is that the factory could produce these pretty quick when the line opens up a window for production to start. Could be tommorow, could be months from now. I'm not sweating it yet. Just get it done before the STUPID UN arms marking crap comes into effect.

Got no problem with waiting. I'm currently at near 3 years and 3 times the money spent on another import. The difference there is that the process has been transparent and everyone knows why the guns aren't here yet, and what the next update will be when the step is completed.

Here not so much.

I get it, been there done that to over the years too but Q3 isn't over yet so TI isn't yet on the hook to explain delays. And yes their last update (there is nothing new to update) let me know what way this one is going. (Not good!)

It's gonna get ugly but hopefully TI does press the factory for updates so they can update us when Q3 passes and no T81's.
We'll see what TI is made of pretty soon I think.

As much as I am hopefully anticipating success, not looking so good. No update from TI at all, that I have seen. If I am wrong, someone please feel free to direct me to the info.

Looking at something else, and should the Q3 indicated delivery pass without a Type81 in my hands, I am looking at something else right now, that those funds could get me part way there.

In my industry, if I say something will happen by a set date, I will move the sun and stars to make that happen, and keep the client informed all the way. I haven't missed a date in almost 20 years. Serious financial penalties are the results of failure in what I do.

If the q3 deadline passes, I really have to evaluate if I wish to reward substandard performance on delivery with my money. I'm not big on that idea.

Calculate how many units pre-sold (paid in full). That money sitting in someone's account making interest, or other investment right now, and not even so much as a comment on status (that I know of). Not so cool, in my books.

So, quoting myself.

And I get called out for being a whiner, and crapping on TI.

Seems I posted on a thread, started by TI, so they could have information on my position in the matter. No mention of pulling the pin (and some have, already, from what I've seen). TI should be able to have feedback from the invested buyers, IMO. Here, they can read it in their thread. Fanboys crying foul and talking about panic. Where in your little imaginations do you read any sense of "panic" in the above? I think it is reasonable to post my thoughts in their thread, so they can guage their market.

Reading all the fanboy flak, maybe I should just STFU. No problem. But it is a severe dis-service to a business, again IMHO, to pull out, or even think of pulling out, without giving them honest feedback as to why. Businesses cannot change things to better gain the trust and support of their target market, without hearing real constructive criticism.

Again, refer to their info in post #3. I believe they have a certain amount of experience to make these statements.

If they don't know what other buyers, and myself feel about this process, just how do all their flag wavers think that they can continue to move forward, and IMPROVE future business relations?

And may I say once again, I am NOT crapping on TI. If TI or anyone reads it that way, the fault therein lies in how I am conveying my message. Only TI will influence my final decision in this matter. The rest of you and your comments, are information for me to guide my decisions, but otherwise, irrelevant to me.

So, you are, or were, a firearms vendor, or worked for one? Anyone we know?

Who said TI "projected" a date? Perhaps that was the date given to them by the manufacturer, or wholesaler, or whatever middle-man they may be dealing with. But all this aside, they were esitmated to be here by the end of the month, which hasn't come and passed yet, so I don't get why you're (still) going on about this. People asked for an update, TI said they didn't have one. So why not just wait until the end of the month, and see what happens. If they show up, great! If they don't, then hopefully TI will have an update by that point, and then go from there...

Regarding part 1 - And for what reason do you think I owe you this information? Your 1799 posts? I choose to divulge parts of my life, as I choose, on open forums like this. What relevance would the answer to this question bear on anything? I responded to a comment from another poster on this thread, the amount of information that I choose as relevant. Read what that post actually says. To me, there is a word, missing.

Regarding part 2 - Funny, precisely what I said I would do in my post that all you decided to dogpile. So why did you even START going on about this?

As bad as everyone else that has asked repeatedly, but yet been told nothing but "we have no update".

Does TI not know the status of their partnership with Polytech on this venture? That's a lot of money for a dealer to spend and not know what is going on with their partner.

So again... TI. At what phase of production / transit / importation are they Type 81's? Are they being built? Have you travelled to China to view the plant as you said you were planning? Or has China not yet started production?

+1+

We just need to have patience, these rifles look amazing and are worth waiting for. TI is doing us all a great favour by importing these rifles for us.

I've been following this thread since day one and don't have a paid in full deposit on a Type 81.
But having no or little info forthcoming I would think has stalled any new sales and put future buyers into a wait and see mode...
If everything is going as anticipated then info and updates should come on a regular basis..
If not then other problems may be coming!!!
Just my .02

Yes, but we are also doing them a favour by spending our hard earned $ up front. As there has been nothing to the contrary from TI, its now 'almost' time to deliver the product within the timescale they indicated.

Yeah, TI said they they would be visiting the factory to inspect the shipment...they haven't even done that yet, so it's very unlikely we'll have a Q3 delivery...they haven't even announced a date that they would be travelling to the factory...if they have a date, and are not telling us, then that's the kind of thing people are complaining about, and I don't blame them...I'm sure if there was anything to announce, they would have...so it's pretty safe to say there will be a delay...unless, like I said before they're saving it for a surprise, when we all get shipping confirmation.

Very valid points raised, no news of the date for visit or if it has already happened raises concerns about delays.

1.1 Where did I say "you owe me" such info? Anywhere? No? ...didn't think so. You are, by your own admission, the one that "chose to put parts of your life on an open forum". You've gone on and on, ad nauseum, about your "business experience", and how you think it not only applies here, but somehow validates your endless criticisms. When it was pointed out to you that firearms retail is a very specific and peculiar subset of the retail industry where most other retail expertise is immaterial, you chose to openly claim you also had a experience in firearms retail. Now you get all bent out of shape when simply asked one question about it? If you don't want to answer, then don't, you're certainly under no obligation to. But don't be surprised if numerous people reading your claims are silently thinking; "what a load a crap". In short, there is no point in bragging about something if you're not willing to back it up.

1.2 What does my post-count matter? You've been here all five minutes with a few dozen posts, all mostly #####ing about the same thing... you didn't see me throwing that in your face, did you? How about we just stick to the topic at hand, and any facts that relate to it, mmkay?

2.1 Yes, hilarious. [rolls eyes] And why is it that everyone is "dog piling" on you when you you've been such a fine exemplar of reasoning and restraint? Oh, wait...

2.2 "Why", you ask? How about "why not"? As in, why not try to be reasonable when... >ahem< others here... clearly are not?

Anything else?
