Ruger GP100 .22 Long Rifle

I think P&D had one on their site. I read a review on the Ruger Forum that suggested fit and finish on the gun left a lot to be desired. For just over $1K I would think they would have to be pretty special to justify that price.

I might ne interested at the $750 mark but for over a grand I can live with the smaller 8 shot version I have. I can buy or load a lot of 38 spl for a thousand dollars and get more practice in with my GP-100 .357.

when i picked up my Riger SP101-22 i thought it would be the same size as my GP100, i didnt know the SP was a smaller frame gun made for carry.
so when they came out with the GP100-22 i thought id flog my SP101-22 and pick up the GP100-22 to get what i had originally wanted but i have yet to hear anything really good about the new GP100-22.

for the price im kinda tempted to pick up one of those Alpha Project guns in 22 for less than half the price of the GP100-22.

If you are have ever owned a smith and wesson revolver and shot it lots and you buy a ruger revolver you will not be use to the cylinder release button.....it got so annoying for me I had to sell my gp100 in .38....I swore I'd never buy anything but a smith and wesson.....buy a sw 617 u will never look back....even at a grand it's best buy for your money hands down with higher re sale value

I love my GP100, fantastic revolver. I think you need to hand pick most guns these days. I thought the 617's had a few issues with sticking ammo, or something along those lines?????

Sort of like if a person grew up driving on the "wrong" side of the road eh...... a person can never move to North America if they still want to drive...... :)

I prefer the button myself but I also have no issues going between the slide and the button....... now driving on the wrong side of the road in South Africa took a bit more concentration...... but was still doable.

I've never handled the new .22lr GP's, I just wish they had come north when the dollar was better and the prices were lower.

i would think it would be hard to sell a GP100-22 when Alpha Projects are less than half the price and readily available.
while i personally dont care for Alpha Project guns i more so dont care for spending over $1000 for a GP100-22.

i'll take ruger single six or single ten. only complaint is you have to eject each case seperately.

I find the single loading relaxing but I prefer the older single sixes because the cylinder indexes in line with the loading port so it's easier to unload without looking down. All you need to do is shoot a few cylinders with a black powder gun to appreciate the speed of the single six...... :)

There is/was one sitting in the EE for around $700 with no takers for quite awhile. Seller said it was virtually new or was NIB. The reviews from the US have not been all that kind when describing build quality but then with Rugers that varies from gun to gun.
