The rpd. I know where the gun is, I know what the hold up is, and the retailer has kept me informed. I ask them questions and they answer. Hell if I wanted to make the trip I could shoot it. The only hold up is the lab. Once that clears I'm sure the retailer will update me on every step of the transit and shipping if I ask.

I wasn't in on the RPD but I would buy one in a heartbeat now. :)

I canceled my RPD order about a week after we were told we would get them in our hands, then I canceled after we were told now it has to wait on FRT.
That said I WILL buy one off the EE once these land

They have my money. I can press any case I want on those terms until they deliver. If I'm not satisfied at any point I can withdraw my money and end the relationship I have in this deal.

Until then I can ask for updates specific to my purchase.

I wonder how many people saying updates aren't needed until the end of Q3 passes actually have money in this preorder. Bad Lieutenant? You in?

They told you almost 4 weeks they were on schedule. They told you almost 4 days ago there was no new info to give. You want more, (right now!)... pick up the phone. Why is it they must update on this forum and this forum only?

I doubt it. If TI posted comments as soon as every little thing happened...

- the barrel blanks arrived at the factory today
- the furniture is being attached to the receivers today
- the rifles are being inspected and test fired today
- the rifles are being crated for shipping today
- Wing-Chu, the shipping foreman, took a dump this afternoon, nice and firm!- the ship with the rifles left port today
- etc., etc., etc...

...it wouldn't make that much of a difference. If there are still some available now, there would still be some available then...

Yup, beer on the keyboard when I read that one...thanks for that!! Laugh2

What kind of concerns me about them arriving this month is that they said that they were going to fly over and do an inspection. If that is the case, they haven't said that they have even done that yet. I wonder if they are still going to do that or if it isn't going to happen and they are just waiting for them to arrive now.

Its pre-order sales, which literally means before a merchandise is ready for a vendor to sell. I would expect a higher level of risk than buying something that is ready to sell.
Don't forget everyone including all wannabe-competitors are all watching these threads closely, I highly doubt a business would like to disclose enough info to make it an online crash course of "how to introduce a new firearms from China to Canada".
Just my 2 cents.

Hey guys we`ve finally got some news from the factory today. Unfortunately due to the relatively small size of the Canadian civilian market the Type 81 production has been pushed back in favour of larger and more immediate military orders. The new delivery is scheduled for this winter.

We understand that this is very frustrating. We`ve tried everything we can to make delivery happen on time, the exporter even visited the factory practically begging and even offered to triple our order out of their pocket to no avail. Relatively small orders for Canadian civilians are simply lower priority than large government orders, especially for a state arms factory and not a private company.

This is quite hard on us, we know many of you are very excited about this rifle, and we hate to see our customers disappointed, even feeling cheated. We`ve always based our business on doing the right thing and making our customers happy, never leaving anyone feeling upset or unsatisfied. We feel we`ve broken the trust of many existing and new customers due to these delays.

Due to the potential for situations like this we really hate doing pre-orders, but because of the immense demand for these rifles it is the only way we can ensure that anyone that wants a T81 will be able to get one when they arrive. We figure this to be better than panic buying, 2-3 year waiting lists and NIB Type 81`s selling on the equipment exchange for $2k+.

We at Tactical Imports sincerely apologise for the delay and hope we can remain in good standing with you as a company. We will continue to do everything we can to make sure delivery happens as soon as possible. Once the shipment arrives we`ll have the orders sent out promptly, anyone that placed an order online will receive an email with their tracking information as soon as it is sent out.

Well it looks like Wing-Chu actually blocked the toilet and subsequently flooded the manufacturing floor when flushing, so production won't start until all the s..t is cleaned up...Probably winter 2016 by all accounts....Unless that foreman dumps another 'flock of sparrows' down the pan, then more delays.

At least we know. Given that I have no life and death need to receive this rifle right now, I will simply keep making payments to Tactical Capital, keep my order open and look forward to receiving my new rifle this winter. Obvious this is not TIs fault
